This has to be the biggest hoax ever perpetrated against this board - EAT must be jealous. To think, all these people talking about stocking up and keeping their children home from school, never realizing that they're the biggest sheep of all - falling the hardest for the government fear mongering. =p But doom is our religion, and some of us are more evangelical than others. |

I prepared for the y2k fiasco because it sounded plausible. the supplies purchased were consumed over the next year so the net cost of preparation was zero. same scenario now but with a potential extra benefit of inflation protection. other than investing in a generator, there really wasn't any out of pocket cost then or now. |

It won't speculate on what most GLPers are thinking, but from what I'm seeing it looks clear that a great many are actually frightened of the virus itself, concerned that they will become infected and die as a result. Caution would be acknowledging that the human variable could cause the situation to descend into chaos and danger. As such it may be wise to keep an eye on the situation and perhaps prepare some meager contingencies for an "in the event of." But that doesn't appear to be the common outlook and reaction. |
