Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18328I doubt it would happen. Yeah I don't think there's many who truly believe this will lead to secession let alone civil war. But many of the events we're seeing seem unlikely to be of natural origin for myriad reasons. I don't think it would be a stretch at all for me to say what's happening seems scripted. So that makes it rather difficult to estimate the result of all this. If the variables are constantly being manipulated, any assumptions about what the conclusion will look like are little more than blind gambles. |

(OP) User ID: 572199 United States 04/17/2009 03:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Texas Gov. Rick Perry addresses a tax day "tea party," telling the audience that Washington is overturning their rights, and ignoring limits on federal power. Quoting: XLR8You have to ask yourself why exactly it is that he said that. Who really believes it was because he cares about the Texas people? Surely nobody here will say that a political elitist did it out of the kindness in his heart. No clearly there's something more going on here, an objective hidden from view. It could just be that he's trying to score points with the disenfranchised, to gain a few more votes for the next election, but I'm betting it's something much more, and certainly not that he's concerned for the well-being of his fellow Texans. |

User ID: 611290 United States 04/17/2009 03:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Texas is definately large enough but I don't think there would be enough jobs to handle that many. Quoting: bubba 658833Not enough jobs as it is. Ridiculous, jobs are everywhere here in Austin. If you go to work at DELL, then yeah, expect a layoff, but you should have expected that from them for the past 10 years, despite whats going on in the economy. If we secede, then we would be alot better off. We already have a whole slew of california slack jawed imbeciles coming here to live, it would be nice to get some of the more intelligent east coasters here for a change. We can secede and then have huge keg party while Perry still rapes us and causes us harm...but he wouldnt get elected as President I dont think, although he would be interim for a while. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 658864 United States 04/17/2009 03:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Many Texans are total jerks. They are loud, obnoxious and while visiting other states often extremely rude. living in a state near them i have seen my fill of this behavior. They are welcome in my book to form their own country as long as they need a passport to get into the states AND they don't enjoy the rights of citizenship of the US in any way. |
