Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
Have you ever tried to develop lucid dreams?
After you have enough experience you can...do....whatever....you....want to do..even fly.
You are in total control and decide what to dream.
Is like going to a restaurant and choosing from the menu what do you whish to have tonight..
 Quoting: ~GAIA~

I've had quite a few flying dreams, and for awhile I was doing some lucid dreaming "training", and when I would come to test reality while in a dream and realizing I must be dreaming, my ultimate test would be "ok, id I'm dreaming, I can fly!". Most of the times I would just gently push up off the ground, flexing my angles and raising up to my tip toes (like you might if you were at the bottom of a swimming pool) and I would take right off. But I would usually be so excited about this in the lucid state that I quickly woke up!

Lots of other times in my dreams, I will just notice that I am floating around very gently, and I can float up pretty high, but usually stay within 20 feet or so of the ground. While doing this, I usually think about how amazing it is, and that I have to show other people what I have been able to do, but never really come to realize it's a dream. But, I think when we dream we actually leave our bodies (astral projection) alot of the time, and that probably accounts for the floating.

I remember a few other dreams I had where I was using "unusual" forms of transportation. In one, I remember sitting on something like a skateboard and just having to lean in whatever direction I wanted to go. There were no motors or sign of any kind of machinery. And no, my name is NOT Deam Kamen ;-)

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
Whenever I have a dream that I'm piloting an airplane, it's always disastrous results. I used to be a pilot too. When I don't have the airplane, I fly perfectly.
 Quoting: Michelle

Same here, when I've had dreams of piloting airplanes (which I've never done in real life) it seems I am always either trying to land or take off from a busy street, and worried about hitting all the power lines and telephone poles! Lot of weird dreams of being a passenger on larger airplanes, with almost vertical takeoffs, going to far away places I've never been, being late for the flight, on and on...

I wonder why that is, those disastrous flying dreams. I also like you used to have that awful dream of being late for a flight. I hated those dreams b/c I'm such a punctual person.

Cool stories, everyone. Thanks for sharing them.

Hey,

that's cool to read :)

I can do it too, it actually evolved after some time :d

when I start to fly the people in my dream are all like WOOOOOOWWW, how does he do that :d

and like you say, the acrobatics as well..

now there is something new, never had it before because I was the only one flying in my dreams but now some other 'dream people' do it too..

really coooooool haha

Well, I'm a Christian, so astral projection I'm not into, but I do believe God speaks to us in our dreams. And I never try to have these lucid flying dreams. They just happen to me. But anyway, dreams, yeah, God shows me things all the time in my dreams, what's going to happen to me, what's happening to my friends, my dog even. He gave me a dream about something that was bothering my dog, which I had no idea about in waking life, and once I had the dream twice, I asked God to show me what it meant. He did, and I corrected the problem, and her behavior did a complete 180 after I made the correction. But these flying dreams are amazing. I would love to have them every night!

Now I frequently dream of gliding along with my feet a few inches off the ground. I can go higher, but it takes intense concentration. I'm always afraid that if I go too high and my concentration breaks, I'll fall.

True. I wonder if it's possible to commit a sin in your dreams.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
I've had flying dreams and dreams that I have been killed. Ive been to places in my dreams that do not exist anywhere on earth and seen beings that are unlike anything I've seen on sci fi or I could ever imagine and in very minute detail but the detail fades from my memory a bit after I have waken. I wonder how my brain could possibly create these things on its own if I have never experienced anything like it in my life.

My sight is never good in my dreams. You say detail. Is it crisp detail like when you're awake?

Wild. Very grainy and muddled details in my dreams, like looking through a filter.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
Just wondering how many people out there can fly in their dreams. I mean flying just you, your body, without an airplane. It just started happening for me this year. Usually, I'm traversing these great jagged mountains that are hard to navigate, and then I finally realize that, hey, I can fly, and I lift up in the sky and soar through the air. At first, it was hard to fly, but now I can do aerobatics like a jet fighter. It's so much fun! I wish I could do it every night!
 Quoting: Michelle

THIS HAPPENS TO ME WHENEVER I EAT TOO MUCH PORK FOR DINNER. AND EVER SINCE I STOPPED EATING PORK, THIS FLYING STUFF STOPPED. IF YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN EVERY NIGT, THEN I ENCOURAGE YOU TO EAT PORK EVERY NIGHT.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
I have levitated in dreams since I was 13. I began flying in dreams at the age of 34. My first spaceship dream was at the age of 42. All of these experiences were very, very profound, and I have documented them in my autobiography. At 50, I usually just levitate to show off. I find it difficult to believe that I can't actually levitate/fly, since it is so much a part of my dream life. I was very confused about the dream/reality chasm as a teenager. Perhaps, I had some kind of abduction phenomenon.

I have always dreamed of flying....I just push off with my feet and I begin to fly....I look down and I can see buidings...people..... Water.... Its really amazing to me.

My dreams seem so real sometimes. I have dreamed many times of flying through peoples windows in their home....and flying or really floating...room to room at the top near the ceiling...then floating through the window...to the next home..

It use to bother me somewhat...but now I just enjoy them... hf

I used to be able to do it once I recognized I was dreaming.

Its much harder to do now.

However I can run at superspeed and jump ridiculous heights to get away from danger in my dreams. I can do this all of the time now.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
I have been able to fly in my dreams as long as I can remember. Flying while being chased has happened, flying just to fly, is amazingly realistic in my dreams, which sometimes makes me wonder on what we call reality.

In my late teens, early twenties, I almost learned to control my dreams. I could wake up, and slip back into the dream. There were times when I thought I was out of a dream, only to find I was in another dream. I have been in three dreams at once.

Lately, my flying experience in dreams consists of jumping, and breath control. I jump high, hold my breath, and the longer I hold my breath, the higher, and farther I go in my jumps. Kinda works like a helium balloon. As i exhale, I decend, as I inhale, I rise.

My strangest dream, and I still remember this today, as clearly as I did decades ago, was when I was in a sort of one room house, miles above the earth, supported by a single, pointed pole, in the perfect balance point of the house. As I walked away from center, the house would tilt accordingly, and I had to be careful not to walk too far, or the house would come off of the pole. It was frightening, and enormous fun, seeing how far I could tilt the house, and see the view below, without the house falling, and me crashing to my death.

Frankly, I would trade the dream world, for this world, in a nanosecond, but my brain is just not that advanced, yet!!
