Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
I've had flying dreams and dreams that I have been killed. Ive been to places in my dreams that do not exist anywhere on earth and seen beings that are unlike anything I've seen on sci fi or I could ever imagine and in very minute detail but the detail fades from my memory a bit after I have waken. I wonder how my brain could possibly create these things on its own if I have never experienced anything like it in my life.

Same here, but flying is a constant.

I thaught myself how to fly in my dreams when I was a child...

I fly all the time in my dreams, it has become quite natural for me.

I am an adult, 44 years.

I plan to keep flying. hf
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 413608

BTW- I fly often in dreamtime, but Ive never encountered another flying person in the dream, and at times feel I need to not be seen flying.

recently however, I fly & love to show off. I feel so good while flying!

THIS HAPPENS TO ME WHENEVER I EAT TOO MUCH PORK FOR DINNER. AND EVER SINCE I STOPPED EATING PORK, THIS FLYING STUFF STOPPED. IF YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN EVERY NIGT, THEN I ENCOURAGE YOU TO EAT PORK EVERY NIGHT.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
Last night I dreamed of a most dreadful event. As I flew round the valley a burst of red/orange light erupted over the mountains, in the direction of Los Angeles. Moments later another! Now a group of us had gathered in amazement at the happenings, we remained motionless, awestruck, watching as a total of three more enormous clouds rose up, turning the daylight to a glowing red brown, the horizon was naught but plumes of smoke and ash. With the chill of death in the air we fled. North and East towards Denver I believe, but as we came near the plateau, multiple explosions engulfed the area, some distant, some near.

Then myself and another were in a car trying to get out, of where I don't know, just out of the city.....

It was crazy intense, so vivid and real, yet exciting and new, like an adventure a journey of survival to break through and be free.

Yes, lots of times. It seems like I was in dream flight training for a while. hehehe
when I was little, I remember actually flying once. I flew through the legs of the dining table, into the living room, and back again. It was cool.
I was so sure I could fly anywhere after that, that I got a tablecloth for a cape, and climbed up on the tool shed roof. The wind caught my cape, I jumped, and guess what ? I didn't fly. It wasn't funny. My grandmother spanked me for scaring her.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
I have always been able to fly in my dreams. Most of the time I begin to fly to avoid being captured by demons.

Though, once I was in a world free of sin and filth and I ran and leapt up into the air and began to fly over roof tops. As I was flying I was filled with perfect bliss. I soared into a day where the sun was perfectly bright and the cool and comfortable. As I was flying I heard an Angelic song burst from the clouds the melody lifted my perfect bliss to an even higher state. The words from the song, the ones I remember sang..."It's a brand new day...!" As the song played out it seemed as if it were being sung by an entire Angelic hosts. I was so filled with joy because I knew this world had no sickness, no disease, no sin, no evil, just love, purity, compassion, everything Heaven is.

I have never had that dream before of since. But, I do think of it often.

As for lucid dreams. Those are not dreams. In battling demonic forces I have been abducted to neither worlds where evil has stained ever part of it's existence. I have seen many dimensional versions of hell and have spent far to much time trying desperately to escape.

Once I was trapped in this Hellish dream world for weeks. I felt everyday, minute, second there as if it were here. I fought my way through twisted nightmarish landscapes. Often coming into contact with abominations.

In these abductions I am totally lucid, in complete control of my mental abilities and emotional weaknesses. I was struck on the arm several times in that abduction and when I was able to escape I had bruises on my arms in the shape of defensive wounds.

Once after interfering with their plans here in this world I was abducted and no matter what i tried I could not wake up. I said to myself over and over..I am dreaming this!" But the 'THINGS' kept laughing at me like I was a fool. I had total recall, complete mental facilities, and was lucid through out the abduction. Towards the end of the month there I was exhausted, bloodied, bruised, in great physical, emotional pain. I returned here only after a severe beating in which I was crying, begging, pleading for them to release me. I awoke with my head and back and the bottoms of my feet hurting just as they should if I had indeed endured such brutal physical assaults. I had to take 3 days off of work because I had trouble walking and standing erect due to my injuries.

I will never forget the way 'THEY' laughed at me when I said 'I and dreaming this." Almost as if 'THEY' knew that I didn't believe that either.

As for further info on lucid dreaming. Many Christian Saints had lucid dreams in which they were able to bi-locate to places far away. They also were able to accomplish super-natural healing while in lucid dreams. Also they were capable of speaking with heavenly beings who imparted knowledge to them. So, lucid dreaming is not new, nor is dreaming simple a state of sleep I assure you.

I fly all the time. at first, I was unable to control where I went, how fast or how high I would go. I would shoot up so fast and so high it would scare me when I looked down. I liked to fly though, so I kept working at being conscience enough to have control over my flying. I can now fly real well and hardly ever walk in my dreams.

I used to be able to fly in my dreams, I was always being chased by someone/thing and could never fly fast enough.
That was when I was a nipper, I don't remember having a dream like that since being an adult.

I used to be chased constantly in my dreams too, but it was never while flying. Always running...
 Quoting: Michelle

When i was younger i flew as a human being in my dreams, and also was being chased before, but i then flew in my dreams to get away, like chased by wolves and such i always got away and they never chased me when i was in the sky, nothing did that i can remember, i was only able as a child, but early in my adulthood, i would have more lucid dreams and obe's that was fascinating, but now that i'm into some drugs and alcohol i guess that affects your mind/body/spirit.

 Quoting: Prophet 491212

Ya know, I have to get on my Christian soapbox here for a while. I too used to constantly dream of entities, or something extremely evil, chasing me, hunting me down. These dreams pervaded my childhood and on into my 20s. After I became a Christian, through a counselor I finally realized that these were demonic entities and that I needed to stop running and face it and use Jesus' name in authority over it. So she prayed for me and I prayed that God would enable me to have the courage to confront it next time I had a nightmare. And he finally gave me the courage. I remember I was running through the house, as always, being chased by it, and I finally stopped running and waited in the doorway for it to arrive. When it arrived, it looked almost identical to that Edvard Munch painting "Scream" character. But as soon as it saw me, it knew what I was about to do. The look of sheer terror on that thing's face was something I'll never forget. I've never seen something be so afraid before. Weird, huh? Almost like telepathically it knew what was coming before it even happened. So I used Jesus name in authority over it, and it sort of like disintegrated and melted at the same time and was gone. End of nightmares.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
Flying is one of my recurring dreams. All I need to do is arch my back to determine how high I can fly.

There's no fear in these dreams, yet in the awaken state, I'm afraid of heights.

I nguess that's why I really want to jump out of an airplane with a parachute...LOL
Once you've eliminated fear and darkness, there's only love and light!

Like driving a car, it got old a long time ago. It's been point A to point B for as long as i can remember. I'm trying to figure out how exactly the time periods are accessible(they are) and other things not earth related.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
i've had dreams where i have something like a segway type apparatus that floats around 2 feet off the ground.or sometimes i'm in a position like i'm on an invisible recumbent bicycle cruising along the sidewalk.

at times it takes a little effort to get going like a trusty ol' lawnmower or something.has anyone ever had these dreams aboard an airplane?like it would ad extra "floatiness" to the dream.

is there a parallel world where the beings always float in the waken state and dream of just walking barefoot in a field grass?like a dolphin unphased by the currents and meditating on the ocean floor still and staring above into the liquid sun dancing through miles of reticulated ocean prisms?

I would have to tense my whole body to get off the ground and I would not be in complete control but I could manage. High power lines and low clothes lines. Then I started dreaming of flying an airplane,a small one seat.Power lines again. These happened a few months ago but not lately.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
Actually it's a funny thing, that of flying in my dreams.
I've started dreaming that I fly in my youth (around my 6). That's how far I can remember at least.
At start my flying technique was terrible. I was able to fly, but I couldn't get higher than a few inches from the ground, and had to be layed, facing down. Things developed in the years that followed, and started to fly in my standing position, but also just above the ground (with my feet pointing down. Nowadays I do fly as high as a 20 story building, but it does tires me down to go that high.
I always thing that if I can reproduce the feeling I have in the dream, I'll be able to do it awaken (It's like a pressure/energy building up in my solar plexus that gives me my lifting ability)

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
I used to have plenty of the flying dreams, I think thats pretty common but does anyone else there have memories of doing things that were actually impossible as a child?
I met this other girl once and we were talking about that kind of thing and much to our surprise found that we both had memories of being able to glide up the stairs. I have to say it was a weird house that I lived in at the time and although I do strive not to believe in ghost etc, some strange things did undeniably happen, all when I was awake. Weird. Another girl I know says she's absolutely positive that there was a tiny door somewhere in her house that led out into the garden. I'm sure these things are easily explained in a way but the flying up the stairs thing is very vivid. I can kind of remember the 'technique' I had to employ as well...

 Quoting: Michelle

Yes, I think it is practice for some form of astral projection. I went through a "training" period, and used to do a longjump, where I would skid along just above the ground and travel for half a mile or more, and wondered why the world record was still short of 30 feet. It led me to realize that competitive accomplishments are not that big a deal as long as you can connect with the larger universe.

I am now in my 60's, and still sometimes will stand alone and try to float and/or project myself to another location. Yes, I know I can fly, I just haven't been able to demonstrate it in this lower world.

Re: Can You Fly in Your Dreams?
Just wondering how many people out there can fly in their dreams. I mean flying just you, your body, without an airplane. It just started happening for me this year. Usually, I'm traversing these great jagged mountains that are hard to navigate, and then I finally realize that, hey, I can fly, and I lift up in the sky and soar through the air. At first, it was hard to fly, but now I can do aerobatics like a jet fighter. It's so much fun! I wish I could do it every night!
 Quoting: Michelle

All my life I have been flying in my dreams.

But wait until you take people with you who can`t fly..outstanding.

Throughout the years I made attempts to identify certain AREAS VISUALLY and confirm what I see when I wake up.

I`ve got out to the fringes of space and could have kept going......but I became spooked and headed back to earth.

Peter Pan got nothing on us does he?

Anyway,I hope you can make it to the moon or Mars.

I'm going to try and see how high I can go next time. Highest I ever made it was past the earth's atmosphere, and then I got scared.
 Quoting: Michelle

Thats what happen to me.

It seems like the whole earth is a playground but when I got up in space...I felt very uncomfortable and headed back.

I don`t know if I can handle Mars, but I assume the moon I can as long as I can see earth...something intuitive.

One thing I enjoy doing is taking those people with me who cannot fly and when they adjust.

I take them to altitude.

Like 50,000 or 60,000 feet and let go of them...they seem to love the free fall...really enjoy it.

Some screaming but its entertainment.

Then about 10,000 feet or so I grab them and head back to altitude.

Hey, its better then any amusement park and the ride is free.
