I forget in which book recall he discusses weight gain and it being harder lose, no matter what as we age. I think he said it has to do with the liver being sluggish and over burdened by toxins. (it might be in the book "Liver Rescue") |

Im 40 years old & have been working out harder & more than when I was young & Im barely seeing r Look into red and near-infrared light. Your mitochondria benefit tremendously from this. They are the sub-cellular structures that convert food into energy. If they aren't working at peak, the unburned energy will pile up. If you are having difficulty this may be part of the solution. Good luck. |

Im 40 years old & have been working out harder & more than when I was young & Im barely seeing r Ive been an avid jogger since I was 16 years old, every 2 days involved jogging 3-5 miles. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45741497 I got fat when I was 24 and knew it would be easy to lose the weight if I went back on the treadmill doing 3-5 miles days. I typically stop the jogging program when I get down to 135lb. Its always been easy for me to get down to 135 after being fat. At 35, I went up to 170lb and was easily able to get back down to 135lb from jogging and eating right. Im now 40 years old, and Im 165lb, Im trying my best to go back down to 135lb and for the life of me I cant. Its been 2 months and Ive increased my mileage on the treadmill. Im now doing 7-8 miles every 2 days and my weight fluctuates between 160-165. I cant lose weight for the life of me. I dont want to take any fat burners or any weight loss help pills. I wanna do it the natural way like I always have. Eating clean and jogging. Assuming you are a man, focus on the lower body and talk to your doctor about medical-grade testosterone supplements. Also, don't eat before going to sleep and watch the sugars and carbs. Eat fatty food: I know it sounds counterintuitive but it will get you fuller quicker and help control metabolism. Also, prioritize animal organs (like chicken liver) over animal protein. Creatine supplements will also help. |

Im 40 years old & have been working out harder & more than when I was young & Im barely seeing r I dont believe in exercise programs or diets. Eat a low carb big meal mid day, light supper of salad and drink undweet tea hot or cold, oatmeal As a snack and do some walking. I did this for a year and went from 260 to 198. No to very little soda. No ice cream, very little pizza. Soda Pizza Ice cream Noodles Potatoes, fries Bread Fake beef Those are the foods that are making Americans fat. Weight loss is simple, it doesn't involve buying anything or doing any program. It doesn't involve wearing your joints out with excessive exercise. Its a permanent change in eating habits. Most people are just to addicted to the high fructose corn syrup and crap diets to do anything about it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45741497 I got fat... Muscle weigh more than fat. Also exercise increases appetite. Eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, easy to make: one part oats, one part milk, one part water, bring to a boil in microwave or pan. It has lots of cheap protein, minerals, vitamins and bran. It is a good hunger suppressor too. Cut out as much sugar as possible, it is an appetite stimulant. No soda drinks, cookies and candy. Get rid of all highly processed and junk food and snacks. Get away from the TV / cable and find something active to keep you occupied. Prevents snacking and eating out of boredom. All weight is lost from breathing out Carbon Dioxide, so anything aerobic will help you lose weight quicker (but not just panting!) You have probably achieved a good level of fitness, your body learning to jog in a very efficient manor. Keep changing the exercise throwing in (different) irregular bursts of intensive cardiovascular work, so your body and muscles do not learn tricks to save energy expenditure. The body is a sneaky beast learning how conserve energy without you knowing. |

Im 40 years old & have been working out harder & more than when I was young & Im barely seeing r Coffee in morning. Hot or warm drinks all day. Cold water will keep fat on. Zero sugar drinks. Farm Pull weeds. Rake Push mower Paint the house inside and out. Go vegan but use coconut oil only for foods. I'm 6'4" and was 270lbs this last winter after a car accident made it so I could barely move much. My ideal weight is about 220lbs. I'm at about 245 now. Still a ways to go. I'm also over 45. I don't use a scale. I use pants and shirt size as a monitor. I need new cloths now as none fit. I don't run at all. I walk 3 miles a day. This winter I'll shovel snow and do woodworking projects to stay active. I once lost 15 lbs in a week painting then leveled out. Once you level out you have to do more and different things. Exercise is what work is for. Get out of your chair. The TV is the worst thing along with snacks and sugar drinks. Hope this helps a bit. |

Avoid processed/preserved foods & snacks, and eat regulated meals on a traditional schedule. |

I vacationed/traveled and enjoyed local cuisines and got back on track upon arriving home. At this point, I do not wish to lose anymore weight... |
