I apologize for some of the weirdos and freaks that seem to get off on mindless insults .

I have been playing 39 years now . He is a natural . I was similar playing this eruption and Yngwie Malmsteen songs my third years.

You should be proud and encourage him .

There are some really ahole comments on here I can’t see why .

He is a natural I bet he plays 3-5 hours every single day doesn’t he .

Rarely see him without the guitar 😂

Yup, that's impressive. He's no Terry Kath, but he's young. Nice. Thanks for sharing.
 Quoting: DEY HATE ME

I never saw anything to special abiut Terry Kath myself . He didn’t really even base his solos around the chords or subsequent chords coming .i like him don’t get me wrong but he isn’t in my top 25 maybe top 30 for me .

Hendrix loved Terry kath he thought he was the best rock guitarist .

It’s all good I do respect and admire him that’s for sure .

He seems to immerse himself into his music. I like seeing that with any musician, sort of calling on the notes to merge. Good vocalists and musicians are truly blessed.

Re: My son and his guitar
I've spent a lot of time learning various guitar solos, and it is very tricky.

It takes a lot of patience, and dedication.

Your son is doing a very fine job at mastering this solo, and he can master it even further.

He has much of the solo mastered, but there are areas that he even knows that he needs to work on.

When I learn guitar solos, I break it all up into 'boxes.'

You can play an entire solo all the way through, but there are certain 'boxes' of the solo that need more studying.

Your son knows exactly what I am talking about.

He is great, and he is on his way to being one of the greatest.

Re: My son and his guitar
Teach him to find his soul. The technique is getting there but the playing is mechanical and soulless. I am being a critic, but we have so many soulless players out there, and creating another one would not benefit the world. Have him drop some acid and smoke fatties and see where he is in another year of playing

I think it will be a challenge but he's a fast learner and I wouldn't be surprised if he has heard of him.

Steve puts a lot of soul into his presentation and you can hear it. Your son will for sure.

Wise words.

He is rarely happy with what he plays himself. Always something that can be improved. Sounds tiring :)

Vibrations of the devil. You should burn it out in the back yard in front of his spoiled ass then in 2 weeks when he's still sulking and hating you for it give him a new fiddle or banjo. Then burn his cellphone so he's still not your friend anymore. Make expectations though, like you're gonna turn 14 table legs on the lathe out of rough log then varnish and stain them too, even though we don't make tables and they're going in the wood burner.

Re: My son and his guitar
Very impressive.

Some people have a natural ability to play an instrument.

I saw Johnny Lang when he was 17. He opened for Sting. Kid got a standing ovation and my friends and I actually liked the opening act better than Sting (who was incredible, as always).

Johnny Lang picked up the guitar at 13, IIRC.

Looking forward to more videos from your son.
 Quoting: Happy in Nature

His best album was his first album at 17. It's amazing how good he was at 17. He should have kept his hair long.
I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you.

Re: My son and his guitar
he rips! reminds me of me when I was 17 and playing 5+ hours a day : )

tell him to check out John Coltrane’s love supreme, it’ll open up worlds trying to cop other instruments licks on guitar. Learning contemporary music / jazz + hip hop production is super important if he wants to make a living at it.

Hendrix is the still the best tho! Barely anyone can emulate his groove / phrasing properly still to this day.

<—actual professional making a living selling original music/touring (teaching can earn a living but it’s mostly ppl who have never sold a record in their life.

you should be proud!
All the best
