The only thing better Poland could have done was to actually fly the planes unannounced to Rammstein, land them there, and then have their pilots get on a bus to go home to Poland. Let the planes physically be in Germany at Rammstein, then they are clearly the US's, Germany's, and Nato's problem, NOT Poland's.
