Restaurants closing but not because of the COVID!

I know quite a few restaurant owners that can not get people to work. One of my son's friends said that last weekend no one showed up to work. He is a cook at a very popular Cajun restaurant and he was the only one cooking. It's crazy!! Now they may be closing too.

Before you know it, a can of EZ cheez will be $7 and a sheet of plywood will be $90 before it totally hits the fan

Wait till they roll out Federal $15/hr just to get some people back.

If you deny any offer of work your no longer eligible for benefits. If you lie it is fraud and punishable by prison time and having to repay benefits received. The employer needs to send a email to unemployment and report the employee. Problem solved. But thats not whats happening. Whats happening is every single restaurant is hiring cooks and theres not enough. And most people arnt willing to kill themselves for such a low paying dead end trap job. It also takes months for a new hire cook to be worth a shit.

What I've seen is franchised or mom and pop restaurants didn't survive the lockdown, they ran up to much debt. But corporate restaurants are doing better then ever because they are getting new customers from the places that failed and like my restaurant having to expand the crew above pre covid staffing levels causing a worker shortage.

And nobuddy is following the 50% full guidelines ive seen us at 90% full and a wait list. And 30 people in the doorway packed so tight you need a breaker bar to get them out

This started long before Biden, Trump started this destruction of the economy over the Flu.

One of our local restaurants had a sign they were running at half capacity because they were short staffed. This was right after the stimulus hit. I figured people either quit or called out.

Restaurants should've bought crypto lol.

I have a friend the head f the food program at a nursing home and he can’t find help. Very short staffed.

Why is the bastards that sit on their asses money worth the same as mine? We need our own money.

I own a restaurant and still have all my employees but I think they are also collecting unemployment as well. Double dipping.
