Most gentle, loyal dog you'd ever meet. I can be any distance from her and she responds to a snap or clap. Then there is Jemma. She's a year old Rottweiler/Staffordshire mix. She is completely inseparable from me and my girl. We got her right before Christmas last year and she hasn't had much of a chance to socialize with people or other dogs... insanely protective. She is the happiest dog I've ever had though. She walks around the house wagging her entire body... she wags so hard she hits herself in the face and cringes. Dogs are the best. Without dogs and cats, life for alot of people would have no meaning. Its amazing how they exist, and had the right amount of intelligence to be domesticated. Most animals never had the intelligence to be domesticated, and i always think its amazing, that we had two animals, like this. Your either a dog or cat person, and its so weird that we always have this dual thing going on in nature, and our world. I agree its an amazing thing, ie that these two animals exist. I do not like cats, but also appreciate that cats for alot of people fill the role that dogs play in the other group of people. Its amazing that we can bond with an animal who cannot speak, and communicate like what humans expect from other humans. Especially for people that never interact with people, like people with autism, in extreme measures, animals like dogs and cats must also help such people. So i agree with op. Its amazing, that both dogs and cats had just the right amount of intelligence to be domesticated animals, while all other animals for what ever reason do not have that. Especially for humans who never interact with other humans, a dog or a cat is amazing. I love how every dog you have, has a different personality. I do not see that in cats, but maybe i never have been to exposed to that many cats to appreciate that in them too. Last Edited by Anon1234inthesky1 on 12/31/2020 05:32 PM |

She died way too early almost 3 years ago. She was still young, only 7 or so, but developed kidney trouble and died. She was my friend and I miss her still even though a good but of time has passed. I don’t think I will get another dog, as I just don’t want to go through the loss again. I hope that dogs have souls and go to heaven. If so perhaps I will see her again, thanks to salvation through Jesus. I know I would never get there but for Him, as He is the only way to salvation for any of us. Dogs are a gift in life. |

Puffmama User ID: 73961289 United States 12/31/2020 05:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A dog represents to most everyone two qualities hard to find elsewhere: Unconditional love for and loyalty to their owner. Quoting: LearningEveryDay So its New Years Eve, things are gloomy all over, but dogs remain a positive spark. I have had a number of dogs. Laddie Timmy Susie Tiger and now Newton Laddie was our young family's first dog. It was a beautiful collie. It was an awesome dog, but my parents decided to give it another home because children, a new home and a big dog were just a bit much for them that early on. Tragically, as in a fictional story, Laddie ran away, and had almost returned home to us, when he was run over by a train at a crossing. Almost killed me when I heard of it. Timmy was my first personal dog, and we were virtually joined at the hip. He was put to sleep in his old age, and again, I almost died. Then there was my sister's stray dog, Susie. A chihuahua mix. I had a BB gun and a pellet rifle, and right off, when I picked it up to go outside to shoot, she jumped up and insisted on going with me. She would always do that, even if sick. And she would actually fetch the birds, rats, etc. I shot. Do not panic, I feed em all now. She also was put to sleep in her old age. After that I had Tiger, but did not allow myself to get attached. I did not think I could handle their dying again. And then my wife got a Jack Russell she named Newton. She spent big time money training that dog, getting it certified, and it has more toys and things than most kids. She LOVES it. But it WORSHIPS me. I started trying to stop that, but my wife would not have it. So that is our pet now, and though I hate it, I am getting attached. Dogs are special. They really do love you, and if you find anyone remotely as loyal as a dog, any dog, well it will be rare. There is magic between a dog and its owner(s). Have you experienced that? Tell us about it! I just lost my dear dog Susie in June. She was the best dog ever, part lab, part border collie. What a character she was! She developed dog dementia; I put her down before the light vanished from her eyes. I have a new little young rescue named Turtle now. I think of him as hte son of Susie. Thanks for making a space to memorialize our dear pets. I m tearing up now thinking about my girl. Thank goodness for dogs; they make us better people <3 |

There are a number of Bible versions to support that they do. I think a lot of people ask that question, and it seems sure, at least as per Christianity, that they do. There are many related verses. For example: Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care. Isaiah 11:6-9 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling a together; and a little child will lead them. 7The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. 9They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. |

I've heard lots of people say they will never get another dog because it hurts too much to let them go. What you need to remember is that it is not about you, it's about the dog. Why would you deprive a wonderful dog the experience of loving you so much and you denying yourself the joy of having that great love? Just my 2 cents. |

He is allegedly Aus shepard/ Border collie/ blue heeler But I don't think thats right he's 92 pounds lol. I don't care what breed he is he is perfect! I cannot imagine ever being without him. Truly a blessing from God! We spoil him rotten and he is still a great boy. I was never much of a dog fan until him, now I love me some doggies! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79524824 Thinking of the dogs I have had, I do not think the dog's pedigree matters. They just love you as the leader of their pack, which may be you and the dog, or additional household members. |

He eats human food too as he is not a 2nd class member of the family. Never give your dog ANYTHING made in china either. He is partial to the 2for10 dollar whole savory chickens (never give them the bones). A very happy and loving beautiful boy he is! |

I used to say "dogs only understand food and pain". One day something drove me to Stray Rescue. Saw this husky/shepherd. Not sure why, but brought her home. She was a wild beast, ate my whole house up. It took me a year, but now she is the best dog you can want. Everyone loves her. Funny, while I was typing this I heard a rumble upstairs. Maryellen had gotten into my wife's things, chewing things up. Not like her. She knew she done wrong. Maryellen has changed everyone's life. I call her my ambient companion. I was so wrong. |

She went to the dog pound looking for a certain type of dog. When she did this dog in the back pulled itself up and somehow got to where she could see it coming to her. It was almost dead, and set to be euthanized the next day. She immediately knew it was THE dog meant for her. She got it, took it immediately to a good vet, where it stayed for a week. It had parvo, and had been found and taken to the pound after being thrown from a moving car. It lived, is healthy as they come now, intelligent, and it guards us with its life. She is a member of the pack....errr....family. |
