Tell me about your dog(s). Take a doom timeout for some canine love.
I have 5. 2 are great Pyrenees that live with the cattle. Before anyone screams "inhumane", please know that centuries of breeding these dogs has brought them to love this work. And my working dogs live like kings. The indoor dogs eat regular dog food while cane and able eat special formulated super food mixed with billjack. They both have their own heated houses that I would sleep in myself.

Then I have a blue heeler that is retired from working the goats and now enjoys retirement at my feet having her head scratched for hours at a time.

I was boarding a friends wiener dog that is slowly becoming a permanent member of the family. She is pretty funny.

But the newest is most intriguing. I ha e never been a pitbull fan. They kill livestock. They just do. Most of them. People get pitbulls here and don't take care of them. We have packs of feral dogs that can be really dangerous and they are mostly pits.

But this girl was different. She kept coming to see me. I fed her because I am a big baby with animals. One day I got a call and people were going to shoot her. So I flew over and rescued her. Cleaned her up and brought her in the house. She hasn't left my lap since. I swear she knows I saved her and this dog loves me more then any of them haha. Changed my entire outlook on pits. In one day she learned to sit, shake and heal. Probably one of the smartest dogs I have had and I have had some brilliant heelers. Smarter then any Democrat I have met.

I have to run to work but I love hearing people brag about their dogs. With all of the shitty owners out there it is nice to see owners that truly love and take care of their animals. We have been given dominion over them for a reason. And all they return is pure love. The hottest corners of hell are reserved for animal abusers.

Certain things, they should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone.

Awww! Very nice. Animals are so loving and wonderful. They love you unconditionally and are so loyal.

I have a Siberian Husky who is very spoiled. She is an inside dog who loves to be right at my side and especially when I am cooking in the kitchen.

We are getting ready to take her on vacation with us to the beach. She loves running, bird chasing and going for long walks on the beach.

Huskies are some of the most beautiful dogs there is. And I love how loyal they are. Amazing breed. Have fun on vacation!

The actual reason behind this post is I was feeling overwhelmed. We recently went into a place where they were fighting dogs. Long story but we held the operators there until the sheriff's department came and took them all away. But it was heartbreaking. They were using bait dogs. And even some of their game dogs needed put down. I have been in combat and it still crushes me to have to put a dog down. So I had to go home and love on mine for the entire night.

That is so sad! I can't even imagine. I can watch muslim beheadings and not even flinch, but if I see a dog in pain, I will lose my sh*t. I can barely watch the commercials that ask for money for homeless dogs. It breaks my heart.

We had 2 dogs, now just 1. Our golden retriever of 13 years just passed away this June. She was the bomb digity. She raised up & protected my boys when I was at work. She always went with them no matter where they went to play in the summer. It crushed them. The entire HS baseball team came to the house, one by one, when they found out, she spent many years running in the outfield while they practiced. They were 6 & 7 when we got her as a pup and they were 19 & 20 when she passed away. Our other dog is a black shitzu mix rescue dog named Bella. I got her at 5 weeks old. She is now 3. She was even nurtured by my golden Maggie. She taught Bella the rules of the house. It was cute watching them. Bella was born in a laundry basket and a family rescued the whole litter and the mom and dad. To this day, Bella is more happy in my laundry basket than the doggie beds we have in a couple rooms. If I can't find her in the house, I go to my closet and there she is, asleep in the dirty clothes laundry basket. She makes me so happy. It's like having a grandchild that sits in my lap without actually having a grandchild. She also comes to work with me from time to time. The office loves her. She just hangs out in peoples office. Very smart and well behaved, which I attribute to my golden retriever.

Thanks for your thread OP, you made me so distracted of regular life, that I forgot I am at work. I better work...have an awesome day!

That is so sad.

I am glad that you were able to get the operators taken into custody, but feel so sad for the innocent dogs who had to die.

I have an Aussie Doodle who we let grow out fluffy in the winter and shave in the summer.

She herds the chickens, chases then licks the cats, and thinks the children are her litter mates.

She's a big suck and hunk o'love. We're blessed to have her.

those abused dogs that never experienced a "normal" human relationship and bonding were simply put to rest where they no longer suffer , far and away from the noise, confusion and fear.
the Creator will deal with the abusers.

at this time in my life i am down to 2 ding dongs, a german shepherd mix and a blue heeler crossed with something and she is truly a sweet beauty. both are good with the family, dedicated to the family but their genetics reflect on a suspicion of strangers, not fear but suspicion and disrespect to the owners commands to shut up and get down.

both know the are loved and share the home and property w/us.
they all did.

have had the range of canines from extreme high intelligence with a form of ESP literally-my dobermans and 2 pit cross breed to the ding dongs.
all were respected, treated fairly, loved, did their jobs and are still missed.

This is my Sheba, the smaller white and brown dog on the left. Sheba is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and the most sweetest and loving dog I have ever had ! She is 14 1/2 years old, and I know her time is short. She was diagnosed with kidney failure this past summer.
I cry sometimes when I take her out on her walks during the day, as I never know which walk will be her last, as she is going down. The neighborhood cats, and our cats, just love her. She loves them up, they love her up, and they will curl up next to her.The other day an alley cat in my neighborhood, who we call "Smokey", went up to her, and was showing her affection like Sheba was her kitten !

Re: Tell me about your dog(s). Take a doom timeout for some canine love.
We have 6. We also do rescues, but 6 is my limit- lol.

I have a goofy male tri colored, bi colored eye Aussie. 4 years old... He is a giant lunk with a crazy uncle personality. Head strong, but a giant love bug who always lets us know the water bowl is emoty by tossing it across the kitchen floor. He also loves my rear end. When he needs something, he gooses me with his snout. He must be taking notes frim my hubby, ha ha.

Then I have a pair of Aussie/border mixes. 3 years old... I owned their momma and daddy. Momma was killed by the neighbors pits when they were 5 weeks old. Their daddy passed away earlier this year. Very hard time for us.
The female pup is loyal to a fault, and extremely loving to her family, but her family only. The male puppy is tall and lanky like his dad, and possibly the biggest dork on the planet. He loves anything he can jump in the air to catch. Hes a mans man, and all about my 16 year old son.

Next is a 5 year old Aussie female rescue. She is dainty amd petite, as gentle as can be. Her other family couldnt keep her and needed her gone asap for a miriad of reasons. Im so glad we found her. She has become a surrogate mom to our small dogs.

Next is our mini wiener dog. Oh man. This girl has more personality in one paw then all the dpgs combined. Fierce and unafraid of anything- she is also a snuggle hound and likes to be carried around like a baby. Shes my favorite. The day I found her she was pooping out worms like a spaghetti dinner and had a broken tail. I called my husband and he said to bring her home. Shes been by my side since:)

Next is a 1 year old chihuahua mix we rescued from a high kill shelter. I had a rescued senior pug that had just passed and my husband and I wanted to adopt from another shelter in his honor. So, there she was on her last days. The people couldnt figure out why no one wanted her. Well, we brought her home. Got the fleas off her- took her to the vet and got her settled in.
That dog is 7 lbs of pure fun loving devious destruction. Her favorite things are garbages, toilet paper rolls, socks, army guys, legos...ect. She is also convinced that she is herding dog now. Her and the wieny are the best of friends and pretty much do everything together :)

I could go on for days, lol!

Heres some pics of the crew, the last pics of some of our fur kids that have passed recently.

masterblaster was one intimidating mofo.

deranged upon arrival, the previous owner was scared of him

produced some good pups.

he was traded for 2 bitches.

the new owner had put out of his misery by police when he broke free and killed a yard full of dogs.

he never bit a person in his life.
