Hey everyone at GLP, Holy shit this has been a long time coming. Ive been lurking in the shadows for 12 years.

This thread is what motivated me to start an accnt and get involved.

Coincidentally enough I am in the same boat as OP. Watched it for years, knew people that made it out and some that didnt.
As one poster has said the dumb ones will lose out.

So for as much homework as I have done and am still doing, I decided a community chat with like minded people that understand the potential before us would be a little more beneficial than not.

You (OP) and I actually have just jumped on board, As I have actually over the past month have put a total of $10k into the crypto market.

I have also dedicated another 3k to building a mining PC to join a mining pool of some sort. <---- This is still a work in progress, Ill be happy to share my build with anyone thats interested.

Anyways I look forward to all the information hopefully shared on this thread. I will bring what I can to bring information, outlook and of course my opinion.

Most of my investment has been in BTC, I bought all of my BTC between 1300-1700 dollars a coin.

At the moment I dont feel comfortable being a day trader although I see the potential , I just dont have enough of a portfolio built that I can play just yet.

I have traded some BTC for long term(most of my money sits in BTC)
from large amount to smallest of alt coins:
LTC / ETH / XRP / GOLEM / ARDOR & NXT

with a short term on ETC for hopefully some short term payout when i bought at 5 dollars coin.

Alright im outta here, gotta go water my plants over at my brothers place.

Any input or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully im not bringing the tomato plants in on this venture..

No barrier to entry.
The crowd decides on its value.
Just like gold or silver ingots.

I don't think GLP allows us to discuss creating a persona in another country to avoid the USA's tyrannical investment limitations.

For example, we can't discuss creating a trust in another country, and having a trustee open a bank account for that trust, which can then invest in foreign investment instruments.

5 days ago, I downloaded a Wallet platform and it has been "Synchronizing to the network" since...it states (with a loading bar) 1 year and 48 weeks behind. When I started, it was 3 years and 50 something weeks behind.

VERY Frustrating...I just want to buy the dam coins and start playing. How can I use REAL $ to buy the 0110010001 stuff?

So...you actually have to buy a "BitCoin" (whatever the rate is ??? 2K now?)...then sell it to buy other coins or "transfer" to another coins? Can't I just BUY the "tokens" directly to i.e. mona.co?

Your as big a fraud as Bitcoin itself..

You do not need to download or synchronize with the network or mainnet (or blockchain) unless your intention is to "solo mine" , most people uses pools for that btw

If you are just buying-selling-transfering and doing bussiness with the coins you just need your wallet (to follow yours movements and transactions)

Similar to Coinbase, Bitstamp has had its issues. They got hacked and there are cases where people got locked out of their funds.

But I think that is to be expected considering the nature of the business. It's an online wallet and they are in control.

I will not use an online wallet for large investments. I use a desktop wallet.

The more the merrier.

Interesting. So, since it is considered goods in the US, would that mean that it was included at the moment you purchased a bitcoin from an exchange?

I will check out how it works over here in NL, but your explanation makes sense so the same might apply over here.

Provided they are all bitcoin wallets, you can send them to the public key of the other wallet. Within each wallet, you can generate a public key to receive funds.

Bitcoin doesn't know borders. You can buy and sell them anywhere, worldwide.

I personally would buy 85-90% Ethereum and 10-25% BTC...or 100%.

While BTC has gone up about 2x, 100% over the past month or 2

Ethereum has gone up 2000% in the same time.

Ethereum is still very much undervalued, and the train is just now starting it's departure from Earth -> Moon -> ???

Ethereum just now bouncing back from a good dip, it's about to go up again. Get in now if u can. Only good news and more mainstream huge adoption for Ethereum now.

BTC *might* keep going up (especially if USD/stocks crash),

Ethereum for sure it's going up now. It's in the early stages where BTC was early on

BUT

Ethereum will get bigger than BTC must likely because it's not just a storage of wealth. It's goal/design from the get go was to be foundation for web 3.0 and for mainstream adoption. It's already been picked up and it's about to blow up HUGE

Yesterday I bumped into this video on some of what you touched upon.

I should say...I believe BTC will go up more (for now at least),

However I don't think it'll go up like Ethereum. And what's going to happen if/when Ethereum replaces BTC #1 spot?

I personally think Ethereum is a less risky , more lucrative, better buy. I traded all of my BTC for Ethereum. We'll see :)
