Unless this policy was made aware to you in advance, id be asking for refund and sue for disruption of their education. Good point I was thinking about that exact thing. We were not warned about that beforehand. They just slapped it in our faces a few days ago. Then you probably have a case. If it is not in the contract you signed with them,or the enrollment information, then I think (not being a lawyer) you have enough to scare them into a refund. ************************************************************************ Corruptisima re publica plurimae leges. ~ Terence |

You have to take it internally for at least a year. It takes 9 months to CURE toe nail fungus. YES you can cure eczema, sinus infections, the problem with most aliments can be cured with oil of oregenol P73. I know I had eczema my whole life, what a blessing to no longer cover up. As far as sunscreen, never use the stuff. I work with kids and never apply unless we are going to out longer than 45 min. |

Quoting: Lilac.Nights My son goes to a small private school in WA, he is in second grade. I was just informed that the school's policy is "no sunscreen/no play in the sun". My son is made to stay in a tiny corner of the playground that provides shade for every recess, just because I refuse to put sunscreen on him. I've already explained that he suffers from eczema and the last year haves and I will not put anything on him. I don't even use soap. Nothing.... First of all our kids are so low on vit D that they need some sun exposure, second we are not on the equator for god's sake, we are in the Northern WA, you can barely get enough sun if you expose your whole naked body to it. The only naked parts on my son are his face, hands and bellow the knees. This is just retarded. Don't you hate it when the school tries to be the parent? This resembles to the T how we were treated during the communism. I emailed his teacher and that's her reply: "Yes, you may send your own sunscreen. It needs to have a manufacturer's label showing the SPF. Our licensing policy prohibits us from allowing kids to play in the sun without sunscreen. If you have any further questions, please contact..." Any help is greatly appreciated! So get the kid some sunscreen. There are vitamin supplements he can take. |

Yes, but you have already said that you don't have a choice before September. So you basically are locked in at this point. You can try to argue with them all you want. And I'm not saying you are wrong (I think it's BS to force this onto parents.) But all they are going to do is fight you every step, and make life for you (and probably your child) miserable. My advice? Suck it up, get some sunscreen, and then switch schools. Sorry. I know it isn't what you wanted to hear. But right now I don't see that you have a choice (until September). |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69455431 As for vitamin d levels being low and needing the sun to produce it - well, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes TOPS for the body to produce it from solar exposure. But, with the overall increase in UV rays hitting the surface - those levels will crash anyway as whatever is produced is used up to repair damage. Sunscreen or not, yoru child is not safe in the sun beyond a few minutes. Take it as you will... You are a shill and/or an idiot... |

Slap some very safe sun lotion on him send him to school (tell him it's special cream that will stop him getting burnt and help his eczema as well if he worries about creams making him ill). You don't want him growing up being afraid of everything, he will be bullied if he comes across as a cry baby. It could be that the teachers will start putting cream on him without you knowing anyway if they feel he is at risk and then they will make you out to be the irresponsible one. Worse that will happen he will have a few superficial hives which you can then blame the school for not listening and you will have every right to play hell then. But the worse that will happen if you keep him in school with robots is that they will call CPS for neglect or start writing notes about you in their report. They do this, I worked in a school at one point and that was bad enough working there, never mind being a parent. He will be fine though. |
