Who has some suggestions for a good read?
Really looking for anything that's challenging, provoking, and, hopefully, entertaining?

Anyone around here have some good suggestions?

American sons The Untold Story of the Falcon and the Snowman. Just read it this weekend and definitely thought provoking, entertaining, heroic. I couldn't put it down and felt like I'd been transported to another life and come back.

Hmm, let me think...
Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved.

Re: Who has some suggestions for a good read?
Thanks for the suggestions so far peoples - to reciprocate a friend recently suggested a book called The Sword of Truth: Wizard's First Rule. Very adventurous. It's dark, enthralling, and kind of a story of trial. However it is the first book in a serious of some 12 now (i think?). I thought it was a great read.

Any further suggestions are quite welcome - and any idea into what they are would be very helpful

Hubbard was a popular science fiction writer in the 1940's so makes sense his Battlefield Earth would be a good read. I should read it sometime.

The Witching Hour by Anne Rice...deep, complex, and thick with "info". It starts a series if you are so inclined.

Re: Who has some suggestions for a good read?
"Story Like the Wind" by Laurence van der Post. This man can write! He creates emotional and visual landscapes with words. A feast for anyone who appreciates the English language. It is a one if a kind story of a young man growing up in the veldt of South Africa with his Rhodesian Ridgeback hound. I have read it over and over for the sheer pleasure of it.
