Quoting: Rev StarGazer [link to www.therepublic.com] FAIRBANKS, Alaska — The U.S. Army has warned Richardson Highway motorists that they may hear loud noises next week. Soldiers from the Stryker brigade at Fort Wainwright will be firing live AT-4 anti-tank rockets on the small arms complex Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. At the moment I'M leaning to what you said! "maybe they extended the practice?" Getting my a@@ to bed! |
Joe Swanson User ID: 45707333 United States 09/07/2013 04:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So far, all I've found out is that there was a large power outage in the Fairbanks area around the same time my source claims the explosion took place. From her original message: "Why did I just hear a bomb go off? My house shock! ...I know it wasn't a rocket launcher because those were going off earlier this week..." As I stated in another post, the Fort Wainwright official page (www.wainwright.army.mil) is currently down, however I have reached out to the Fort Wainwright official facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as a reporter at KTUU Anchorage (who told me about the power outage). I will continue to dig into this until I find out whether or not there was actually a bomb or it was just some idiot who blew up his grill... |

According to my source, the explosion would have happened around noon. As I stated on the source site, I'll be updating with new info if and when I get it. I can't reach her ATM for further info, which is understandable considering it's a little past one in the morning there... If you find any info please let me know. I'll get back in contact with her in the morning for more details... |

There is always some sort of training going on but they also said they had some power outages earlier and a pole capacitor had blown. When they go it sounds like what they are describing it will scare the hell out of you, make the windows shake, the whole house if it's close enough the power doesn't always go out where it blows. Here's the link might not get updated again til' AM [link to gvea.com] This is where the FED's were the other day not close to Fairbanks there are 17 permanent residents Chicken is a community founded on gold mining and is one of the few surviving gold rush towns in Alaska. Gold was discovered in the Chicken area at Franklin on the 40-Mile River in 1886 and on Chicken Creek in 1894, prior to the famous Klondike gold rush. At the present time there are still several active gold mines in the Chicken vicinity. The gold taken from this area comes from cat mining, suction, dredging, and for the tourist there is gold panning in pay dirt direct from mining operations. You put up the notice but no where does it state that they are extending the drill. They would have posted another notice. How is asking a question misleading? ahem... that was a canadian... they put question marks after everything they say... even the stuff that isnt a question... you just confused the lil fella... eh? Are you so sure about that? Is that your final answer? Would you like to call a friend? |

Maybe we are having skirmishes with Russia up there and no one wants to admit it??? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26300532 Well, and I don't know if this is any indication of anything, but people seem to be posting to craig's list still in Fairbanks. I had a thought to check and see if anyone was posting figuring that if something was going down it would probably pop up in conversation or at least there wouldn't be people posting personal ads, which their were. Like I said this doesn't necessarily prove anything, just saying... Sorry, but this isn't your explanation... |
