Unconfirmed Report: Large bomb explosion @ Fort Wainwright in Alaska

So far, all I've found out is that there was a large power outage in the Fairbanks area around the same time my source claims the explosion took place. From her original message: "Why did I just hear a bomb go off? My house shock! ...I know it wasn't a rocket launcher because those were going off earlier this week..." As I stated in another post, the Fort Wainwright official page (www.wainwright.army.mil) is currently down, however I have reached out to the Fort Wainwright official facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as a reporter at KTUU Anchorage (who told me about the power outage). I will continue to dig into this until I find out whether or not there was actually a bomb or it was just some idiot who blew up his grill...

I am there and nothing has been out of the ordinary all day, i did not hear a large explosion. It is a big post though, could be something going on nearby.

Id b worried if i were u 2 canada, since they'll b coming thru u 2 get 2 us if they ever decide 2 go that route

According to my source, the explosion would have happened around noon. As I stated on the source site, I'll be updating with new info if and when I get it. I can't reach her ATM for further info, which is understandable considering it's a little past one in the morning there... If you find any info please let me know. I'll get back in contact with her in the morning for more details...

Called friends in Fairbanks nothing has been on local news sources. There is always some sort of training going on but they also said they had some power outages earlier and a pole capacitor had blown. When they go it sounds like what they are describing it will scare the hell out of you, make the windows shake, the whole house if it's close enough the power doesn't always go out where it blows.

Exactly! Alberta and British Columbia. Tar Sands ( OIL ) and the Port in Vancouver. Check Mate! You guys get alot of oil out of those pipes and to the Port. They want to skip over Alberta thru BC with that Pipeline to Kitimat. Also at Kitimat is a huge smelter and natural gas pipeline where they will load the ships to china with liquid natural gas.

Thats very important peice of realestate. Kitimat. Remember that.

Remember a while back there was a guy found dead at one of our military outposts (i think it was on an isolated island up there), it barely made the news, but i remember thinking maybe it was the Russians, so and now this??? Maybe we are having skirmishes with Russia up there and no one wants to admit it???

Well, and I don't know if this is any indication of anything, but people seem to be posting to craig's list still in Fairbanks. I had a thought to check and see if anyone was posting figuring that if something was going down it would probably pop up in conversation or at least there wouldn't be people posting personal ads, which their were.
