Unconfirmed Report: Large bomb explosion @ Fort Wainwright in Alaska | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 46492333 Canada 09/08/2013 04:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am not in town at the moment, but I didn't leave until friday night. I heard them doing exercises from my house on Friday, I didn't hear anything tuesday/wednesday, so my personal suspicion is the exercise was delayed due to rain. They also don't normally say anything about normal artillery shelling (they were doing it on a range), this was just a heads up because it was expected to be louder. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46492269 Also on friday the "intertie" which is a transmission line for power distribution between anchorage and fairbanks went down. [link to www.newsminer.com] The power outage was actually much more widespread than the article leads you to believe. I know that parts of wainwright went dark (it seems only mission critical is on base power or backup anymore) in addition to Salcha and I suspect the entire GVEA service area. My believe power was out for approximately 20 minutes. I would suspect that the servers the web sites were on crashed in the power failure. Highly unusual for "crashed" servers to be out for 12+ hours nearing 24 hours. Also why 3 separate server sites... how come Air force websites weren't crashed? etc. Russia isn't that far remember Palin said she could see it from there! This still stinks to high heaven! |

Military don't postpone sh*t for rain! |

Probably changes only when Putin moves from Moscow...lol I HATE looking at pages like that! I don't know what I'm seeing, don't understand what the exclamation points signify........HAH!!!! LOL, there are more threats from CONUS than OCONUS by far....at least according to Global Incident Map. “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” ~Seneca PS: I Stole this from another member.... ;) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1622429 Canada 09/08/2013 11:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just got back from holidays in Alaska and having not been to the US since before 911 I was surprised at how many DHS vehicles I saw. Is this normal? A lot of them were around Fairbanks but there were a few in Denali National Park which I thought was odd. One seemed to have the assignment of driving up and down Denali Park Road all day. I would think the grizzlies would take care of security in that area. |

[link to www.adn.com] FAIRBANKS, Alaska — The U.S. Army has warned Richardson Highway motorists that they may hear loud noises next week. Soldiers from the Stryker brigade at Fort Wainwright will be firing live AT-4 anti-tank rockets on the small arms complex Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Soldiers from the brigade's 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment will fire nearly 50 rounds. Residents living near the range as well as motorists on the Richardson Highway may feel vibrations and hear the explosions. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports that the AT-4 is an 84-mm unguided, portable, single-shot recoilless smooth-bore weapon built in Sweden. |

Joe Swanson User ID: 45707333 United States 09/09/2013 04:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I finally received and update from Ft. Wainwright! The base is SOP. I repeat: the base is SOP! HOWEVER: Still no explanation as to the source of the explosion (or at least what my source CLAIMS was an explosion). It could be she freaked out over nothing, and is now too embarrassed to admit it, or it could be she was told to keep quiet. I'll leave that up to you to decide... |

I knew the op would die out quickly thanks to Disqus, so I was pleasantly surprised to find other sites reporting on it (except for that clown Bob Powell, who actually has the Gall to steal my story and call it his own!). I want to thank everyone here and on survivalistboards for their insight and input. I wouldn't have been able to get as far in my search for the truth as I did without you guys. Thanks again! Fort Wainwright User ID: 4593263 United States 10/13/2014 11:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A friend of mine received a call from a person he knows that is on Fort Wainwright. The info is that base security spotted a suspicious van, which then tried to crash the gate. They fired on the van, which then exploded. While the source did not see it, there was reported an ISIS flag being flown. The source did hear the explosion and did see two bodies in a burnt out van. Base command has since ordered that none if this info was to leave the base. And just before an election, imagine that. |
