Also on friday the "intertie" which is a transmission line for power distribution between anchorage and fairbanks went down. I know that parts of wainwright went dark (it seems only mission critical is on base power or backup anymore) in addition to Salcha and I suspect the entire GVEA service area. My believe power was out for approximately 20 minutes. I would suspect that the servers the web sites were on crashed in the power failure. |
