Meditation: Universally accepted as something Great: Doctors, Jesus, Ghandi, Buddha, AMA
Disclaimer: If you come to this thread to spew hate/fear I will just delete it. If you have something viable to debate against meditation please post something to back it up.

There is one thing that is universally accepted as something good and wonderful too do.

Something that will help you health.

Something that will help your wealth.

Something that will bring you peace.

Something that will unlock the secrets of "yourself"

Everyone from the AMA, Catholics, Buddhists, Christians, Ghandi, Jesus. Meditation is universally accepted as something we should all do.

So, why isnt everyone doing it?

Those guys agree too.

But I was talking about the "American Medical Association".

We are talking about meditation.

I disagree. At least from my personal experience.

The worst part is, it doesnt happen with 1 meditation session.

That is the downfall of it. People want "instant" results. Meditation is a journey. The more you do it, the more you realize. The more power you have.

Jesus would disagree with you.

The "Kingdom of Heaven" is within.

Edit: For the records I do not believe in organized religion.

Jesus and his teaching are pure. What it has been twisted into would make Jesus very sad.

I do not need organized religion to realize my true nature.

The answers are "within".

The art of life through Vipassana form of meditation as practiced by Gauthama the Buddha is a MUST for all human beings.

No abracadabra magic, no mumbo jumbo nor any gurus sitting to judge you.
The whole thing is a mere focus on breathing - which incidentally is the ONLY thing constant in us from the time we are born till the time we die.
Take from it what you want - the least of which would be shedding a few pounds/a reduction in waistline since they only feed you vegetarian meal and that too twice a day at the ten day retreat.
Find a course at a center near you by clicking on the link below - best part is that it is absolutely FREE - the way all esoteric knowledge should be

I'm a Christian and I truly believe in the power of meditation.

It really gives me a chance to get "centered" I guess is a word for it.

I used to have high blood pressure too, until I started meditating. So I do know it has medical benefits as well.

I would recommend meditation to everyone 100%.

Re: Meditation: Universally accepted as something Great: Doctors, Jesus, Ghandi, Buddha, AMA
I think meditation is a very broad concept. I personally can't do it deeply but I do practice honest self reflection. In my opinion they lead to the same.

Everyone meditates on a way. Some become quit and explore their inner self. Others meditate on problems in their lives, some meditate on their believes.

I can imagine a time where we didn't had so many impulses around. Maybe a blazing fire and a few mysterious sounds in the night. Wouldn't you be in a meditative state most of the day, contemplating your inner self and the world around you?

If you are a good Christian, you are commanded to meditate.

Joshua 1:2-9, the Lord spoke a comforting message to Joshua. He said in verse 8, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

You will have a moment. A very "spiritual" moment. Some people it takes 1 month of meditation. Others it takes much longer.

I had been meditation for about 6 months (4-5 times a week) when I had my first "breakthrough". Easily the most enlightening moment in my life.

Dont give up. At the very least it will calm you mind/spirit. This will allow you to work and see more clearly.

A good way to put the pedal to the gas is to do it at night....and during your meditation, hold off sleep for as long as possible. This is like stepping through the "veil" with regards to seeing spiritual results.

The amount of time that you are able to stay suspended between the waking and sleeping worlds should lengthen with continued practice. This is the entering of the void, so to speak. And from what I've experienced, and read from others, this will cause your spiritual awareness and growth to accelerate significantly.
