I live where there’s lots of old history. There’s some evidence in the woods of witchcraft and other weird shit still. And there’s some creepy tunnels in the woods.

I live in North Georgia (US). About 20 years ago, I was big into hiking. During an unusual winter storm, I decided to go for a hike up Blood Mountain, which is a popular day hike and also a spur to the Appalachian Trail. The weather at home was bad which meant the weather in the hills was even worse. Sleet, ice, snow, the works. Cold as anything.

I arrived at the top and checked out the stone shelter. The fog was so thick that I couldn't see a foot in front of me. Very spooky. I started back down the mountain and I saw a figure emerging from the mist. It was a guy in a suit and tie, wearing dress shoes. He was soaked! Strangely, he was carrying a gallon jug of milk and holding an umbrella. I said 'hi...wonderful weather, huh?' and he just ignored me and walked on by.

FWIW, a girl named Meredith Emerson was murdered there some years later.

Another kind of creepy thing happened when me and a buddy were hiking at Panther Creek in North Georgia. We saw two women with strollers who said they had come through the woods and were lost. Trouble is, the woods in the area go on for miles and contain numerous fallen trees and ravines. No idea how they managed to get two strollers all the way back in there. We told them how to get back via the trail to the 985 parking lot and went on our way to the falls. Spent a few minutes there and started back. We never saw them again, which almost certainly means they went back through the difficult terrain or maybe they were apparitions?

Maybe it's something, maybe it's nothing... I was meditating once in that ancient temple up in the Bali mountains, all by myself. When I came out of the temple to my motorbike, I noticed big ants running around on the ground and even a few on my bike.

The weird thing was the color of those Ants - metallic bright yellow, metallic navy blue, metallic dark red and metallic brown, all randomly mixed up. Never before and never after have I seen those kinds of ants.

So cool! You reminded me that back in 82”, my friends and I were at the Old Locarni marble mine in Carthage Mo, playing amongst the enormous square blocks that were piled into the abandoned pits. We called the place Giantland, anyway we found some piles of money and printing plates. It was obviously someone’s discarded counterfeiting stuff. Some of the boys took some of the bills. I think they were all $20’s but I was scared to. Nothing ever came of it however. It was cool to find a cache of bills, very thrilling especially to 16 yr olds. Too bad it was fake.

Ive read stories and had a few of my own:

There was a bigfoot sighting around here years ago along the river. Creature was mad, throwing stuff in the river for 1/2 an hour at some frightened boaters late one evening.

There are old cemeteries people come upon every now and again that are lost to time, hidden in the undergrowth around here.

When I go places in the woods always see the usual, underwear, random bits of clothing, socks, condoms. Before internet used to see alot of porn in the woods.

Ive seen a ghost once in a field through the woods, it was a horse and rider dressed in mid 1800s clothing. It approached us like it had seen our hiding spot on the edge of the field then it dissapeared!

Used to see random trash in the woods alot. Behind my house there was an old truck topper. It made a rustling noise on the leaves when you moved it and would often move it around when I went back there looking for snakes. Was out back looking through my telescope one late evening and parents were asleep I was the only one awake aroubd 11pm-12am. Suddenly I heard that rustling noise like Ive done many times before like someone was moving that old topper around! I freaked out, went inside and peaked out my window for an hour, never saw anything after that.

Lastly my sister saw someone or sonething peering at her through the woods as she walked across the yard to go to the neighbors. She freaked out and ran. We used to get robbed and think someone was scoping the place out!

Just a few of the things ive seen in the woods. That swamp was a creepy place for sure!

Reminds me of the old spook bridge in quitman Ga. Its covered in satanic grafitti as well as the normal stuff. Got crazy lightheaded walking on that bridge, like something was trying to push me off.
