MSNBC: Should Texas leave the union? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 625769 United States 04/17/2009 10:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No. Actually, the union of states is just fine. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 625769It is DC that isn't. We are getting some real lessons in just what is wrong with one-party rule in both houses of Congress and the White House. So the 50 states should toss out DC from the Union. "United we stand, Divided we fall" If we get rid of DC, then all will be fine. Dividing us, is just what the elites want to do. Are you satisfied that we are letting those scum bags control us. Texas can lead, but need to unite the minds, just as our founding fathers did from the French. My mistake I was referring to the "British Empire". Did too much research on the French Revolution for my paper lol |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 658864Colorado.I knew it.I'm sorry, its those Dallas people who go skiing in Colorado, mouthing off. Yep and many buy up huge chunks of land that they use for vacations all the while carrying on about how much better Texas is than anywhere else. Don't generalize. I'm from Texas and don't feel that way. First generation American to be exact. Guess what? I'm Catholic too and not a Southern Baptist. Like I said don't generalize. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 652370 United States 04/17/2009 11:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Union should leave Texas Quoting: Anonymous Coward 618285You think thats funny but it is! It would be absolutely wonderful if all liberals could be segregated from all conservatives each in different states and then splitting the nation into two. the liberals would not be able to continue for more than a MONTH! they wouldn't be producing anything! LOL. they would be like homosexuals trying to survive past one generation! with about 80% of liberals on the govt dole, they would begin rioting within a month! LOOOL. "I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get piled upon one another in large cities as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1787. Papers 12:442 "The commercial cities... are as different in sentiment and character from the country people as any two distinct nations, and are clamorous against the order of things established by the agricultural interest." --Thomas Jefferson to M. Pictet, 1803. ME 10:356 "I view great cities as pestilential to the morals, the health and the liberties of man. True, they nourish some of the elegant arts; but the useful ones can thrive elsewhere; and less perfection in the others, with more health, virtue and freedom, would be my choice." --Thomas Jefferson to Benjamin Rush, 1800. ME 10:173 "A city life offers you indeed more means of dissipating time, but more frequent, also, and more painful objects of vice and wretchedness." --Thomas Jefferson to William Short, 1823. ME 15:469 "Our cities... exhibit specimens of London only; our country is a different nation." --Thomas Jefferson to Andre de Daschkoff, 1809. ME 12:304 [link to etext.virginia.edu] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 657633 United States 04/17/2009 11:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Many Texans are total jerks. They are loud, obnoxious and while visiting other states often extremely rude. living in a state near them i have seen my fill of this behavior. They are welcome in my book to form their own country as long as they need a passport to get into the states AND they don't enjoy the rights of citizenship of the US in any way. California alone is considered 5 richest country worldwide ahead of Italy behind Great Britain on the list. Arnold could be the Mussolini of Cali. Texas and Louisiana would also make for a rich country. Just imagine all fed taxes would stay in state. Taxes themselves could be lowered since the fed would no longer be able to siphon off cash trillions at a time. |

I did not know that. I have a love/hate feeling for him. I'm a vegetarian and animal rights activist, but I'm also very pro gun rights and an evironmentalist. As much as i can't stand his carnivore thing and his pro war stance, as a governor, which he is considering, Michigan's environment would be protected, the size of gov't slashed, and we'd all be carrying, lol. |

I will assist each individual in their efforts to become a highly motivated, well disciplined, physically and mentally fit soldier, capable of defeating any enemy on today's modern battlefield. I will instill pride in all I train. Pride in self, in the Army, and in Country. I will insist that each soldier meets and maintains the Army standards of military bearing and courtesy, consistent with the highest traditions of the U.S. Army. I will lead by example, never requiring a soldier to attempt any task I would not do myself. But first, last, and always, I am an American Soldier. Sworn to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. |
