Go to Dominican republic, Russia, Costa Rica, Thailand, Phillipines. Find woman. Procreate knowing she's using you. Have children and be happy.

I am in my 50s now and I have thought about it, but I have decided adoption is the way to go personally....

It’s only natural to want someone to share your life with. Just make sure you choose a decent person.

My husband and I started our family later in life (I was in my late 30’s through early 40’s and he was in his late 40’s through early 50’s) we have three amazing children and no regrets. I wish you the best.

You have to emotionally enslave a woman for her to stay.

Unless she's a woman of God.

There's levels to all of these things.

Seek God genuinely.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84952617

Even godly females want cash and security and some way to pin you down for free ( to them, anyway), and I promise you all their vanity and fantasies dont go away.
Females are willing and expecting to share fully in your success, of promise of future success. If you dont deliver you will dearly. They really dont have to give a proper accounting for themselves as to why they should leave with all your valuables and court ordered obligations.
Thats what it is.
Do you think some female, even a desperate one, is willing to watch you play videogames all day or get all hot and bothered by your absolute ordinaryness and social stasis as a nonentity?

Re: Has any men here started families in their mid 50s?
All we can hope for is for society to treat elders with respect and don’t take advantage of them similar to how we want society to treat children.

I don’t have kids of my own and I wouldn’t mind retiring to a nursing home if I was treated with respect and wasn’t taken care of by people I don't know.. Parents who have good relationships with their kids tend to have their kids with them when they are nearing death which is a good thing to have. And maybe some day all people who don’t have anyone will have some people with them.

There is a time for every purpose.
Families are for the young and fit with a potential for a gu.
And you aint young anymore.
You have about one chance in 10000 that you will find any real family from strangers and people from outside of your culture at this point in time.
It would not be good karma to generate some half breed street children who will end up in central or south american brothels or prisons and thats what your most likely result will be.

Re: Has any men here started families in their mid 50s?
Probably should post anonymous, but who cares, right?

I'm feelin' bad today. As a man, I'll soon be moving from 51yo virgin to 52yo virgin. The problem I face, is that I'm still in the place I never progressed from nearly 40 years ago. And with that, I still want not only an intimate experience, but also a family and all the things.

Specifically the last year I feel like I've lost the last bits of attractiveness I may have had. Where as just a year before, I could at least get a smile out of woman in passing. Now it's like I'm absolutely invisible or they go well out of their way to avoid eye contact and misinterpretation.

I figured as I got older, I'd just gravitate further into hobbies or maybe some type of business, but it's not the case. Women are on my mind 24/7 and crushes all other interests. I thought men dry up in their 50s?

This is kinda like hell. Would it be different if I had all of the desires fulfilled and long behind me? If your thirsty, you drink. If you're hungry, you eat. If you're tired you sleep. If you crave intimacy and your old, you...

So, any older guys here that jumped in late and made it happen? Love, family, etc? How low did you go with your standards and what is worth it?

Foolish statement. if you have a kid at 35 year age and you die at 40 then does this mean it is irresponsible? alpacino had a kid at over 80... it is not you who will raise and feed your kids ,it is God who does that, so trust in Him.. age is just a number ,sometimes a 70 year old father can be much better than a thirty year old one

Why would I start a family?
I've already had my prostate removed because of cancer (guys, get your prostate checked every year starting at 35).
The women I know of all ages already have kids (my little sweetheart is 29 and has 5)
I'm not wealthy to support kids.
I don't have the energy to be around kids 24/7.

so why would I?

My dad was 46 when I was born. My nephew just started a new family with a new wife, and he's 52. Older parents happen. It's not the age that is the issue; it's the person's youthfulness. I've seen old and worn out people who are 40 and too old to run after babies.

considering the USA's likely future, I don't know why anyone would want to have kids now

in another 20 years it will be a third world hellhole like Brazil, but with a lot of nukes

and no amount of good folks having babies is going to fix that -- it's far too late

logical, I don't agree with you. No child of mine would end up in a SA brothel or prison. And as far as a time for every purpose, things don't always, and I'd even go as far to say: rarely work out on schedule.

You assume a level of fitness based on age. Some people are outside the norms. just as I am late to the gate with family, I'm physically training like someone much younger than me. Genetic defects aside, I probably fall outside your recognized norm.

My friend this is a normal feeling, 100 years ago we’d send guys like you somewhere to die in a field fighting over some meaningless cause. But due to a lack of wars you seemed to slip through the cracks and survived. I’d suggest you don’t procreate, it doesn’t sound like you have anything useful to teach you offspring that will benefit the next generation.
