They were given billions to repair the electrical infrastructure a few years ago from a different hurricane.

Why didn't they bury the wires and put that shit underground?

In the 90s, PR got hit by a big hurricane. My biggest customer(navy) asked me to help with restoring any networking circuits that didnt come back up after the restoration of power. I went there for two weeks. The only people I saw working to fix things were Navy personnel and some US contractor like myself. No Puerto Ricans were working at all. When they kicked out the navy a while ago, I knew the next big hurricane would be disastrous. Guess what, It took months to get the power grid back up after Maria. They had to boat US personnel in to fix things. I doubt they learned anything from that. They will have to let another contract and boat/barg power trucks in from the US again.

Trump need to stock his Trump Force One with toilet paper and head over to PR so he can chunk TP at the desperate US citizen that he refuse to help when he was in office.
