Horrible business idea, not going to work. Quoting: Doctor Congo [link to www.mirror.co.uk (secure)] Controversial reusable toilet roll is dividing opinion on Twitter as some call the product an unhygienic "health risk" while others argue it slashes costs and is eco-friendly. The sustainable company Net Zero Co is selling a cloth toilet roll that can be washed and reused repeatedly. Their product is on the market for £21.50 and comes in a pack of 24 with designs on each sheet. “This alternative fits on any standard toilet paper roll and easily re-rolls to hold its shape. After use, collect pieces in a hamper until laundry day, recommended twice a week. Machine wash with hot water. Tumble dry low or air dry. You may choose to pre-soak with vinegar or cleaning solution. Once dry, re-roll one at a time.” |

I cannot really see people washing this shit out in laundry machines and i can already see the manufacturers and coin-op laundromat's losing their shit over this, too. given that tp is typically biodegradable, is this really even worth the trouble? |

I remember those, they were blue cloth rolls but I don't think they were reused at the end of the roll. When the roll was used up, a new roll was put in and the janatorial service collected the used rolls and washed them. FCK the WEF! Keep your hands off my country! |

No fear of shortages or of running out. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 84019294 United States 08/17/2022 04:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just no...I don't want that going through my washing machine, I don't want to wash my clothes after washing shit and pee off of rags from myself, my family and my guests...Also, the smell of them sitting in a hamper witing for wash day..Then having to touch them to put in the washer...No, No and Hell No! Quoting: BabsyT Basically that is what they did with cloth diapers, back in the day. Before disposable diapers became all the rage. I am sure that before toilet paper, they used a similar system. I know that they did this with cloth mensural pads back in the olden days. So this is not " new", just a step backwards. BTW when SHTF, you will be using something like these things. So maybe you better get prepared for that. |

I've got a bidet toilet attachment on my toilet. Works great, very little TP except to dry off maybe, and my only complaint is it can be a little cold on the corn hole during the winter. Hell I found it here on GLP and bought one. |

They said buy a bunch of wash rags, use them, soak them in a diaper pail, then wash. No thank you. I will continue to be a bad person and use toilet paper I do not have to wash. Hell no. And I certainly don't want it in my washing machine where I was clothes we wear. |

Leave them in there for a short space of time. Then stick them in a 15min rapid wash with some vinegar and baking soda. Laundry soap and Softner. Leave to dry in strong sun. Reminds me of those Terry diapers when I was real little. Pray for the peace over Jerusalem. |

User ID: 81766231 Japan 08/17/2022 05:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We have a bidet in each of our bathrooms. Started using them when we lived in Asia and bidets were ubiquitous there. We still use TP to dry, but the bidet does most of the heavy lifting, so to speak. For a family of four, our TP costs are a fraction of what they used to be. Bidets are far more sanitary. If you wanted to clean peanut butter out of a shag carpet with flimsy tissue paper, you'd just wind up making a bigger mess--it's almost barbaric to not clean with water. Getting all up in there with a nice stream of clean, refreshing agua is the way to go. Once you get used to it, it becomes hard to go without. I get a lot of comments from guests, over the fact that we use that method. Some seem almost disgusted over it. "Ewww GROSS!! You use water to clean your ass after punching a grumpy?" I think I had the same reaction when I encountered one for the first time, but once you use a bidet, you'll never want to wipe any other way. |

All the kids use them and throw them in a metal can near the toilet. It doesn't smell and the bucket can be removed from the can and simply dumped in the wash for a special butt wipe only load. Pairs excellently with the bidet, saves a ton. |
