California exodus continues, with LA, San Francisco leading the way: Why are we here?

So true. I left California about a dozen years ago for the same reason: too many people, too crowded, too expensive to live there anymore.

I moved to CA in 1967 and it was fantastic. Not so many people there yet. Housing was very affordable (bought a 2-bdrm house on the lower Riviera in Santa Barbara for $25K with ocean/island views. Today that property goes for more than $1M+.)

I miss that place. Great weather year round but I came back to the Midwest because it's still affordable all these years later. The people are nicer and more friendly than in CA.

Americans scream anyone who loves freedom is a traitor, but maybe the real traitors are the Americans who love tyranny.
