Two score and nine years ago our abortive mothers brought forth, upon this continent, an abomination, conceived in slavery, dedicated to the proposition that some beasts are more equal and deserving of life than others. Now we are nearing a great civil war, testing whether the nation, or any nation so corrupted, and so desecrated, can be cured. We are met on the great battlefield of that war a terrible enemy. The initial battlefield is the realm of ideas, dedicated portions of that field exist on the internet, our government buildings, the town square, libraries, and college campuses. These were once great institutions, where ideas came to flourish, now they go there to die. For slavery of the body and the spirit, is dependent upon the ability to enslave the mind. It is all together fitting and improper that the enemies of logic and freedom would now tear down a statue of Abraham Lincoln and his Gettysburg Address. In a larger sense, this is another desecration of an important symbol, for it must be rendered null and void by the cowards who have come to rely upon political correct madness in order to eliminate reason, to disallow those concepts and principles to which free spirits are attracted. If given their way, the world will little note, nor long remember this man or his words, and it won't be able to forget them either, because they will have wiped his memory from earth.
