I agree with above poster...she needs to handle as many pistols as possible...when the right gun hits her hand, she'll know.

Take her to a gun shop. Let her put her hands on them. Shoot them. Don't rule out revolvers for a novice shooter.

My wifes runs the sw 357 revolver 66t I think ,loaded with 38 ,very smooth .

I carry the safest gun in the world for athletics and daily protection. If I spill on the bike it won’t shot my leg off and it’s light. It’s a Smith & Wesson 38sp hamerless revolver. I have an AR15 too. I use the AR when I know I’m shooting. I keep the Light revolver always strapped on me.

Ah the NRA. That was not a nice way to welcome an interested member.

Most women don't "get" an automatic and it's functions and a small 5 shot 38 dal revolver is generally the best choice unless she's willing to actually learn to clear jams and train with anything better.
The majority will expect the gun to do its job while they watch such is their mindset and most will not act until jts too late because they hope everything will just go away as if by magic especially if they burst into tears.

Get her a revolver and never ask a woman for their opinion on guns again.
