Won't get the mons who already have their babies on formula to breastfeed. If a mom doesn't nurse her baby at the start, their milk dries up and it's very hard, if not impossible to restart milk production. (I used to work under a trained lactation consultant & breastfed 3 kids of my own).

But

This sure would motivate any mons giving birth now or in the near future to breastfeed - for fear of not being able to feed their baby due to formula supply disruptions.


Pregnant women are pressured especially hard by their OBGYNs to take the shot, if they want to continue as a patient with that doctor. So, I would imagine that 75-80% of pregnant women are vaxxed, per their doctors orders.

There were formula shortages in early 2020 too, after the lockdown. I remember, because my son was an infant at the time. We mostly relied on breastmilk, but used a little organic formula when we needed.

If so we are better off doing literally ANYTHING else including using the baby formula from 1962 that says use evaporated milk and molasses.

Women can’t just start breastfeeding their babies because they’re out of formula, lol.

I personally do not think it is a coincidence that this is happening at the same time as the Roe v Wade leak and subsequent "trigger laws". I was listening to a list of states that are the worst affected by the "shortages" and they were ALL red states. I know that 13 states have trigger laws in place that will curtail abortion in some fashion that will automatically take effect if Roe is repealed. I can't remember all of the states named, or what states have trigger laws so I can only speak to Missouri since I live here. Missouri is suffering 40% out of stock shortages on baby formula AND Missouri has 2 trigger laws in effect. The first bans abortion after the fetal age of 8 weeks effective immediately, the second bans all abortion 12 weeks following the repeal of Roe with an exception in there for the life of the mother.

So basically I think "they" are saying either abort your baby or watch it starve.

No, they can't.

If you don't breastfeed your baby as a newborn, your milk dries up & hormones shift. Relaxation is a thing, using a supplemental nursing system, but it's well known that even if you can get the mom to begin lactating again, her supply will noteet the baby's needs & supplemental formula or donor breastmilk has to be used.

This can happen, not only when a mom chooses not to breastfeed, but also with situations where the mom has an emergency C-section or the baby is premature - which delays the amount of time between when the baby is born and when the baby is put to breat for the first time.

A mother's best shot at having a strong, plentiful milk supply is to get the baby to breast immediately after birth.

Unfortunately, as much as doctors have medicalized and interfered with the birth process, that often does not happen, potentially compromising the mother's breastmilk supply for the duration of her nursing relationship with the baby.

My youngest child was born 7 weeks early due to medical emergency, and I had to pump round the clock, every 2 hours, and I fought tooth and nail to maintain my milk supply for her for the 4 weeks she spent in the NICU. My story is not uncommon.

For those who think these mom's whose babies currently drink formula can just start breastfeeding when their baby has not nursed at all since birth - that's not how this works.
