Quoting: Anonymouse71 I personally do not think it is a coincidence that this is happening at the same time as the Roe v Wade leak and subsequent "trigger laws". I was listening to a list of states that are the worst affected by the "shortages" and they were ALL red states. I know that 13 states have trigger laws in place that will curtail abortion in some fashion that will automatically take effect if Roe is repealed. I can't remember all of the states named, or what states have trigger laws so I can only speak to Missouri since I live here. Missouri is suffering 40% out of stock shortages on baby formula AND Missouri has 2 trigger laws in effect. The first bans abortion after the fetal age of 8 weeks effective immediately, the second bans all abortion 12 weeks following the repeal of Roe with an exception in there for the life of the mother. So basically I think "they" are saying either abort your baby or watch it starve. Women can’t just start breastfeeding their babies because they’re out of formula, lol. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 41852030 No, they can't. If you don't breastfeed your baby as a newborn, your milk dries up & hormones shift. Relaxation is a thing, using a supplemental nursing system, but it's well known that even if you can get the mom to begin lactating again, her supply will noteet the baby's needs & supplemental formula or donor breastmilk has to be used. This can happen, not only when a mom chooses not to breastfeed, but also with situations where the mom has an emergency C-section or the baby is premature - which delays the amount of time between when the baby is born and when the baby is put to breat for the first time. A mother's best shot at having a strong, plentiful milk supply is to get the baby to breast immediately after birth. Unfortunately, as much as doctors have medicalized and interfered with the birth process, that often does not happen, potentially compromising the mother's breastmilk supply for the duration of her nursing relationship with the baby. My youngest child was born 7 weeks early due to medical emergency, and I had to pump round the clock, every 2 hours, and I fought tooth and nail to maintain my milk supply for her for the 4 weeks she spent in the NICU. My story is not uncommon. For those who think these mom's whose babies currently drink formula can just start breastfeeding when their baby has not nursed at all since birth - that's not how this works. This sounds oddly familiar, as in the 1860's America. States against States. As for the breast-feeding, this will effect those who will be born starting in a few months. Women who are using formula now, will finish with formula. Newly expectant mothers....it makes me think Biblically. As when Jesus said, "Woe to expectant mothers in those days, or those with little children, because they will need to flee to the mountains, because the Man of Perdition has arrived" [not exact quote, that's from memory]. By now their should have been such a build up of cognitive dissonance in the minds of the vaxx tards that their heads should have exploded long ago. Just keeping track of the ever changing narrative much less having to see the effects and some modicum of true science against one of the great hoaxes of all time. No wonder they still wear masks they have short circuited. DrPunch |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72425772 United States 05/12/2022 01:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Whats a solution? We hve enough to last 2 more weeks...her breasts barely produce milk anymore and baby is 5 months Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78063823 Put the baby to breast as often as humanly possible. Baby & mom should be bare skin to bare skin. Baby should be put to breast at the beginning of feeding & stay on until the baby gets fussy. Feed formula after nursing if baby is still hungry. If she had to be away from baby to work, she should pump every 3 hours during her time away. Even if she doesn't get much milk at first (or ever - some women aren't able to get much when they pump), the breasts need the stimulation in the absence of baby. Cosleeping & nursing at night - even letting the baby nurse as a comfort/pacifier all helps to increase supply. The breasts produce milk on an "on demand" basis. In order to increase breastmilk production, you must create more "demand" by putting baby to breast as often as possible. There are hormones like oxytocin that are produced by mom when baby is at breast - hormones that let the body know that it needs to continue producing milk for baby. There are herbs mom can safely take to increase milk supply. Look it up. Enlist the help of a good Lactation Consultant - preferably one with "IBCLC" credentials. If you cannot afford their fees, your wife should attend the meetings of their local La Leche League group - it's free, they're well trained, and they're just about everywhere. It's a volunteer run, mom-to-mom breastfeeding support group. Monitor baby's weight gain to ensure baby is gaining weight. aAlways make sure baby gets fed when it's hungry - putting baby to breast first helps increase milk supply in the long run (it can take a couple of weeks), but make sure in the short term, baby is getting enough to eat by supnenti g formula after breastfeeding if necessary. If baby has not been breastfed (only given milk in a bottle), baby may be reluctant to latch onto the breast. If that happens, hope is not lost, but you will need a lactation consultant or La Leche League's help. |

I've read that in ancient times, they could nurse a child to 5 or 6! I nursed my child until 2, and they also had regular food. It helps them become secure! Dang!! Grow some care! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 82057449 United States 05/12/2022 02:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My idea was: this formula shortage is to encourage the growth of some kind of market where VAXXED mothers sell their contaminated milk to UNVAXXED mothers. The intent being to poison babies who would otherwise be safe from that sh*t. |

My first baby was also born 7 weeks early and I was determined to breastfeed. It tool one huge effort to do it but I did, he never once had formula and I fed him until he was 15 months old. If the effort isn't made right at the start there will not be milk. |

The general food shortages and price increases there will also fuel an inability to breastfeed. Underfed mothers do not produce milk of the same quantity or quality. |
