Anonymous Coward User ID: 5189088 Canada 05/04/2022 03:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | about 25% or something of Diesel is bio-oil Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80277128 yes vegetable oil vegetable oil is in short supply and governments are hoarding diesel for war your screwed And the absolute irony of the situation is that with shortages of veggie oil, they cannot ship refined fuel because its mandated by law to have a minimum of veggie oil blend to retail sell. Its bad enough that veggie fuel uses more energy than it produces in North America, and that bio fuel is bad for your engine. Now the government is making artificial scarcity by enforcement of useless virtue signaling minimum blend laws. How are they working for us again? |

When are you going to realize...the USA is a "lawless" land, so stop thinking these laws apply to you, they do not... People need to start taking matters into their own hands... Rip out the emissions equipment on your vehicles and you will save gas, remove the DEF equipment, and you'll save money, no more DEF purchases....same on passenger cars remove all emissions equipment, and stop getting your cars inspected. You can also remove cat converters, egr valves, ect and put a straight pipe in place and your car will function just fine...you might see idiot lights but you can ignore them as they just want you to spend a fortune to put the systems back into place.... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75186789 United States 05/04/2022 04:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | someone in the industry pointed out that between spring and summer they change a component in the fuel formula for summer conditions. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74754671 they let the winter supply run out and there is often a short lag before the new stuff replaces it. same thing in fall. not saying this is because of that...but it happens. Nope, this is bigger(more serious) than that. East Coast distillate inventories are at their lowest EVER. and Total distillate inventories are at their lowest since the last financial crisis. Plus the number of operating refineries half been cut in half. And to make matters worse, lots of fuel is being sent overseas instead of sold here because they are getting more $ for it. [link to www.zerohedge.com (secure)] thanks for the link. i'll get the room ready to vomit in fear now. |

The diesel formulation stays pretty consistent. Gas on the other hand, you have to watch out for the ethanol reformulation between summer and winter. thanks for that clarification. |

You know, Biden saving America right before the elections in November. A good indicate if they plan to steal the midterms will be if fuel prices remain high. Right now, confidence in the communist camp is very high that they will remain, maybe even pick up some congressional seats in the steal.. |

Lol. My dad deleted his, only one place would pass inspection. Dealerships wouldn't take it on a trade. Don't get it inspected... Private vehicles NOT for hire do NOT need to be registered... so no tags....no insurance.... Brand dealerships won't take in trade, sell on the private market in this market someone will buy it for what you want to see it for. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 29706669 United States 05/04/2022 04:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I filled up my '03 prius the other day for $17. Should I feel guilty? I bought chicken for $1.19/lb. Should I feel guilty? I bought a brand new 30" x 36" upper shaker style kitchen cabinet for $55, should I feel guilty? It's not about spending a lot of money for things, it's about finding the best deal for your money. If you can live with a little less comfort or a dent here and there, then you can save a bunch of cash. Otherwise it is a race to the bankruptcy court for a lot of folks who cannot control their spending. |

I just bought a new chevy z71, 2021.. it sucks, bent two pushrods at 25oo miles... 50 k for a piece of crap... Sounds like the new lifters that are used to disable half the engine cylinders when not under heavy load. That system is bending pushrods all over the place. Had no idea pushrods even existed anymore Looks like they use them for the purpose of locking them to deactivate a cylinder. Ridiculous complicated stuff in there. Now they've got the pushrod normally tilted rather than being along the direction of travel of the rocker arm, for some sort of engage / disengage mechanism. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 81887851 United States 05/04/2022 04:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I mean, you're not really deactivating the cylinder. The crankshaft still makes the piston go up and down right? So you still have the losses from reciprocating motion. How much does one save by not burning any fuel or getting any power from that cylinder then? |
