Wal Mart's truckers are treated LIKE GODS. If a wal mart truck shows up and there is a live of 8 trucks waiting for the dock THEY ALL have to move and let the wal mart driver go first. The employees have to drop everything and get the driver unloaded and back on his way. If not the driver complains to corporate and the store employees get in troulbe. And alot of these assholes have the attitude to boot. |

Most long haulers work closer to 80hrs and log 70. THIS. Family member got his Class A thinking truckers made good money, then he quickly realized it's because they work 14 hr. days... Especially considering all the BS they have to put up with these days, truckers should be making a hell of a lot more than 100k. |

When you add up ALL the hours including the ENDLESS hours you sit in LOADING DOCKS on your ass, waiting to get loaded and unloaded by non-English speaking lumpers who take siestas just to piss you off, and trying to dodge scales with overloaded trailers that you don't DARE take back or they'll make you wait ANOTHER couple hours in their loading docks, and then you have the econutsy maniacs who don't want you on THEIR INTERSTATE and try to drive you off the road, and you have to almost kill YOURSELF trying to keep from killing them in their little sub-compact cars, and the towns that forbid you to use your noisy engine brake, because it annoys them (but they want your stuff) and ticket you if you idle in sub-freezing temps, because they don't want you polluting THEIR AIR with you stinky diesel exhaust, etc, etc, etc... if you add up all the hours you're making less than minumum wage doing a shitty thankless job. I bought a farm, we grow our own food, are as self-sufficient as you can possibly get and screw the rest of you. Also have an arsenal to kill you when you come looking for OUR FOOD. |

Plus try to sit in 15 square feet space for 20 - 25 days non stop all the time for 110k per year. Some of the prisoners have more space in jail cell. Not to mention that you got camera watching you 24/7 and assholes calling you every time you change lane with no blinker or stoping to fast when you got cutoff by some 4 wheeler. And this is when McDonald is starting to pay 15 an hour to do squat. |
