In the mid-1990s, when Ralph Rene’s book NASA Mooned America came out and got a lot of airtime and positive press on the “patriot” networks, they separated the spacesuits and the landers and moved them to opposite ends of the display at both the Space Center and the NASM in D.C.

Side note: Ralph lived a few miles from me here in NJ at the time, and I ran into and hung with him a few times through mutual acquaintances. He told me some weird stuff began happening to him after he wrote that book, and a lot of “interesting” characters showed up and attempted to insinuate themselves into his confidence. Ralph, like me, had already been around that block a time or two, so they got no traction, but things like that just go with the CT territory.
