Get your taste and smell back after covid
I had covid beginning 31/10/21. I took Ivermectin but unfortunately went to the second stage anyway – pneumonia. My daughter’s boyfriend’s mother is a doctor – so fortunately I didn’t have to go to the hospital to be treated. My husband also had covid. She prescribed medication for blood clots, some to prevent over reaction of the immune system and an antibiotic for the pneumonia. After 12 days I was fine (it wasn’t so bad – weak and coughing up phlegm during the pneumonia stage). It usually takes up to 6 months to fully recover from pneumonia. I’m not fully recovered yet but much, much better.

The worst part is that I lost taste and smell. One of my hobbies is finding interesting recipes and preparing them. I’m an accomplished home cook. Well, taste was almost there but missing the most important taste for a cook. I could taste sweet, sour, bitter, and salty; but I couldn’t taste savory. Savory includes all the nuances of taste – the spices, the tannin in wine, even the taste of whiskey which was unrecognizable for me.

That is when I decided to try to shock my system to get it to turn on taste and smell again. As a cook, I know how important salt is to enhance the flavor of things – even magnify them.

So I tried something which was very simple. This totally restored both my taste and smell in one day.

Step 1: put 1 ½ teaspoons of salt in a cup or mug.
Step 2: Stir until dissolved.
Step 3: Swish a mouthful of the salt water around in your mouth 3 times and spit it out.
Step 4: Repeat until the glass is empty.

After about an hour I could both smell and taste again. It wasn’t fully restored but much better.
I repeated this 2 more times, once in the afternoon and once before going to bed.

The next morning I had regained 100% of my taste and about 80% of my smell. I’m going to continue this to see if I can get all my smell back.

You might need to do this more than 3 times – so do it as long as needed – it will also kill bacteria in your mouth – so not a waste of time anyway.

I’m sharing this only to help those who have lost taste and smell, because I know how devastating it is.

I will check back from time to time to see if this has helped anyone.

I feel for those without taste and smell – I’m not a doctor – this just worked for me and my husband.

You probably used too small of an amount of ivermectin, or didn't also use Zinc and HCQ with it.

Yes I didn't use HCQ. My guess is I didn't catch that I had it early enough. And when I used it, I didn't have enough to follow through. I took a dose of liquid IVC on day 1, day 2 and day 4 and then it was finished. Not enough according to my research, but that is all I had.

A friend of mine had the idea to put some high quality CBD oil under the tongue of someone complaining of Anosmia, and that seemed to work almost instantly ! I don't know if it worked permanently..

Thank you. I was hesitant about posting because I don't like the nonsense from the riff-raff on this forum, but I did it to help people who are where I was. Trust me it worked for me and my husband. I hope others try it and are likewise helped. Bless you.

Re: Get your taste and smell back after covid
i also lost taste and smell and although my fatigue, fevers were gone, with ivermectin, couldn't really smell much, although like you, i could taste salty, sweet, acidic. Don't remember trying sour.

My friend does reiki, reads energy, and according to her, she felt the energy in my head was stagnant so she had me visualize water running through my head. Did that the first night, and next day, i could smell a banana. So went ahead and spent 30 min every so many hours doing this and by the 2nd say, smell and taste were back. Not sure if coincidence, but yea, so happy i can smell and taste again. Had really no idea how miserable life is when you can't taste, although, i did lose some pounds so that was the best part.

Re: Get your taste and smell back after covid
Dear Wisconsin

Basically what I found is that a sodium channel is used by nerves to transmit messages for taste and smell.

Voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) are the basic ion channels for neuronal excitability, which are crucial for the resting potential and the generation and propagation of action potentials in neurons. To date, at least nine distinct sodium channel isoforms have been detected in the nervous system.

For communication between neurons to take place, an electrical impulse triggers the release of chemicals called neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are released into the space between the two neurons. This space is called the synapse. ... Receptors receive and process the message, then send it on to the next neuron.

The membrane potential is the basis for the conduction of nerve impulses along the cell membranes of neurons. Ions that are important in the formation of a nerve impulse include sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+). The sodium-potassium pump maintains the resting potential of a neuron.

Sodium supports proper nerve functioning by playing a role in action potentials. When your nerve cell receives a signal, it sends an electrochemical impulse -- called an action potential -- down the length of the cell to trigger communication with neighboring cells.

Na+ entry is a key factor that initiates fast action potentials and shapes sub-threshold electrical properties to thereby regulate neuronal excitability and neuronal discharge activity.

Sodium channels play a central role in physiology: they transmit depolarizing impulses rapidly throughout cells and cell networks, thereby enabling co-ordination of higher processes ranging from locomotion to cognition. These channels are also of special importance for the history of physiology.

Voltage-gated sodium channels in taste bud cells
Background Taste bud cells transmit information regarding the contents of food from taste receptors embedded in apical microvilli to gustatory nerve fibers innervating basolateral membranes.

I eat a lot of salt but I don't swish my food around my mouth. I suppose I'll try this.

Interesting aside-I lost my sense of smell and taste from the flu in 2017. Lasted at least 6 weeks.

OP - how come swishing a saline solution around in your mouth is sufficient for recovering smell and taste?

Your remedy does not affect the nerves transmitting the impulses from your gustative papillae nor from your nasal mucosa to the brain, it only affects the taste buds directly.

So what does this mean?

Re: Get your taste and smell back after covid
Dear 79521649

I don't know what you mean by normal covid medication, but when you've got it(the China flu)you are not in the position to say, "AH I'm going to tough this one out." You may say it now, but if you get the bio-weapon, you may be looking for things that help. I used Ivermectin and I know it destroyed the Corona, but I did develop pneumonia, and I trusted antibiotics to handle that. That was the right decision because my lungs are clear now. I am definitely against the vaxxx and have told my daughter (25 years old) and her friends that it is better for them to get Covid than to take the death shot.

All I'm doing with this post is trying to help people who have lost their taste and smell. We can't all escape the bio-weapon, unfortunately. If you have, kudos to you. But I didn't and many anti-vaxxxers haven't. I'm simply trying to help.

You probably haven't lost your taste and smell. It is horrible. I couldn't even eat because everything (excuse my language) tasted like shit. I lost weight. Everything I knew had a strange taste - cheese tasted like butter - I couldn't stomach (literately) eating anything.

We are all in this together like it or not. The vaxxxed and the unvaxxxed. In the end, if we do not unite, we are lost. The great die off is happening now as I write. By May, billions will be dead worldwide from the vaxxx. We have to come together to survive this genocide. Don't hamper this with a negative post. Rise above it and join forces with those who will survive.

Maybe it means it is time limited and that you might need to do it once a day. But even if that is the case, no big deal.

I'm sorry you have gone more than 6 weeks without taste and smell. I couldn't (well I could) but wouldn't want to imagine. I eat a lot of salt too, my husband not - so I have to be careful when cooking. Give this a shot, it's cheap, will destroy bacteria in the mouth, and I'm sure return your taste and smell.

Dear 79521649

To be truthful, only about a month before I got the Covid. But from what I understand from my brother (who takes 20,000 IU a day and had to get new glasses because his eyes improved so much from the vitamin D3 and has been taking D3 in that dosage for a year and a half) if your D3 level is above 50 no worries with Covid. Yes you may be correct that my Vitamin D3 was low. But that begs the question - why didn't the Ivermectin work unless I had too low a dosage. That is what I suspect is the cause of me going to the stage 2 pneumonia stage. Your thoughts?

Re: Get your taste and smell back after covid
Dear 45766577

You are 100% correct. It has not been isolated so there is no proof it exists. So what happened to me? The trouble breathing - (I haven't had a cold or the flue in 15 years), the fever, the chills. Was it all in my mind? What about the loss of taste and smell that just happened like boom, no warning, just kaboom it was there. Imagination again? I must have a vivid imagination. What about the back pain, the fatigue, the brain fog. My vivid imagination again?

No - sorry to disappoint you but yes what ever this is - Covid - a bio-weapon - vaxxx shedding - it's real. Go through it and tell me it isn't real. Yes - go get infected with the non-existent virus and tell me that your trouble breathing, body aches, headaches, fever, loss of taste and smell don't exist.

I know where you are coming from and I agree with you. It was all a scam from the get go. The inflated case numbers to scare people to get the vaxxx. The propaganda from China of people dropping in the streets. The lock downs to destroy small businesses and to increase the profits of the large corporations. The green passports for implementing the social credit system. I agree with all that. But I got sick from something I have never experienced before - not the flu, not a bad cold, not any of the childhood illnesses I had (wasn't vaccinated for) which gave me acquired immunity. It was something new. Where did it come from - who knows. Is it real - yes I suffered from it. Was it only in my mind - No. So instead of latching on and holding sancraint the one and I emphasize one fact, that the virus was never isolated, open your mind to the possibility that there may be a bio-weapon out there that the PTB don't want you to have the genetic sequence to in order to protect their bio-weapon from being neutralized.
