Port of Seattle becomes the latest casualty of container congestion

In its most recent North America operational update, Hapag-Lloyd reported that, as at 15 October, there were 11 ships at anchor in Puget Sound awaiting a berth at Seattle terminals.

“Berthing delays in Seattle are up to two weeks at this time, due to heavy volumes,” said the line, adding that the terminals were operating at 90% utilisation.

As usual, it seems to only be the corrupt, crime-infested, Blue shitholes. Why none of these problems in Red port cities/states?

So, hundreds of ships stuck in the Pacific with no berth for months on end is only a conspiracy theory? Whew! I thought it was actually happening. Thank heavens for level-headed ACs. What would we do without them?

I saw Florida has offered to help. That would cost them more to get there but the real cost is getting the containers out of Florida. That north south highway is already clogged 24/7. I was there on a Weds afternoon and it was pandemonium. State rest oasises so clogged you cant even stop to pee.
