Stabilized 4K Footage of ISS from my Telescope!

Here's the stabilized processed 4K footage from yesterday's ISS live stream. If you look closely you can see the new iROSA solar arrays installed by the Crew-2 astronauts (the sun glints off one of the new arrays midway through the pass), you can see the Crew-2 Dragon attached on the trailing end of the station (which is currently turned around for thermal reasons this week during a period of high beta angle) and if you look really closely you can even see the robot arm hanging out in front of the station.

The gif looks like the ship customization screen in a video game. kind of like when you rotate it with an analog stick on the controller. Looks exactly like that lol.

It's quite real. In fact if you're at just the right spot at the right time, you can catch it silhouetted against the sun or moon.

AMAZING. Great footage, a real accomplishment.

People here might not realize how difficult it is to get video of a moving target like that.

I'm not a full-blown flattard but I know that they lie about things regarding earth and space.

My question is how in the world is it possible for a shadow to be cast on the moon from a satellite in low earth orbit? Please educate me but isn't the moon supposed to be much further away than that it would seem that that shadow should be impossible.

The shadow isn't being cast on the moon. It's being cast on the telescope from ISS. ISS is just blocking a small portion of the moon.

Yes, temperature can very much affect things. I'm sure he let his scope sit outside and equalize in temperature, unless he has a dedicated observatory with a permanently mounted scope.

Yeah it had been outside for a couple of hours before the pass. The outside temperature was actually pretty close to room temperature. The atmospheric seeing wasn't too bad for Florida, but certainly my best shot is still the crew one capsule docked to ISS months ago when it was cooler and drier outside.
