I'm surprised it's only 1 in 5.

Considering we now have third world electrical infrastructure where they cut off the power for days, I don't blame them.

80% are not switching back. That's pretty impressive.

The local Walmart here just put in charging stations for EVs.

I dont think that's the case when my father goes to town...Hes a car guy,has had 1000s in his time...has almost every car ..

But i really dont care about cars anymore ...

but last time i spoke with him last week i think,he said half the cars at the local walmart are tesla's ..

My dad Wants electric cars..IN fact he has built one himself out of an old VW diesel truck. ...I want the Tesla Truck..

And my wifes boss Bought 1 and then after 6 months he then bought another one ...The one that cost 100 grand...The SUV one ..

Sooo he seems to like the cars,my wife asked him since he travels to carlsbad from up here driving ...And he really likes the car...

HE got rid of his beemer ...sooo...Im pretty sure Tesla's are the future...

15 min to fully charge ....Im sure that will get down further with more tech..

As my dad has an older electric motor he got from a guy when he died in the LATE 90s ....

The electric motor is still perfect...

Verse a gas motor that you always have to up keep..Screw that...

I'd never get one. I'd have nightmares about running out of power in the !middle of nowhere. At least with conventional cars you can carry a can of gas.

I am surprised that the project to blockout some of the suns rays/spectrum have not found a way, to use a rocket and send something into the sun that could do the job properly of altering certain functions of sunlight instead of this half assed "gasses" in the atmosphere route, giving the solar panels are more efficiency bonus.....

If something bigger then Krakatoa did go off then expect a couple of years without summers, the panels would be covered/hindered in ash for a while...

The constant charging wears the batteries out and they cost thousands to replace.

A very small number of electric vehicle owners in California switched back to gas-powered because they don't know how to plug in fast charging to their EV. Just like a very small number of people refuse to use the computer because they don't know how to move a mouse or glide pad control.

They have a different approach to the batteries and how you charge them. YOU DON'T!

The batteries you "swap" at a, well, for lack of better words, the gas station. The gas stations will be set-up with solar powered units from Tesla and they charge them for you. Then you just roll into a gas station and switch or swap out your battery.

It's going to be that easy.

Till then, I'm not messing with an electric car. Way too much hassle.


Problem is, NIO is Chinese. So they may have a rough patch ahead with the trade-war 2.0 in full swing. So Musk and Tesla may have to get this going themselves.

But until a majority of gas stations have such a set-up, no Tesla for me!

There's no reason why wireless charging should not be incorporated into the electric vehicle...Tesla proved over 120 years ago that it's economical and easy...

One should simply be able to pull into their garage and between motion and magnetic sensors, automatically engage microwave charging and regulation...

Chevy Volt charges on 110 outlet and takes about 8 hours for a full charge. Also has a gas engine that powers the electic motor and hardly ever has to be gassed up.

The Tesla door stop truck has 3 motors.

The Rivian R1T has 4, and can do tank turns as well as true torque vectoring for incredible handling. And it looks like a truck.

It's incredibly inefficient, not to mention you wouldn't want to be around the emf fields developed by that level of current.

battery cycles are a key factor being looked at in new battery chemistry. They (Tesla) already has "million mile batteries"(2 million actually) on the test bench now.
