Re: Have you ever seen someone die?
I read long ago a Doctor who studied death told of a person being on a scale who was passing it was purposeful planned part of his study. He said when the person passed the persons body immediately lost 15 pounds. He felt that was the weight of the deceased persons soul.

found it interesting

Actually I read something similar about 20 years ago; but it was a clinical study of the terminally ill, calibrated scales and all. But they didn't lose 15lbs.! It was barely measurable but they claimed it was still significant.

Yes I was a hospice nurse for 5 years. A few times, my patients @saw” someone coming to get them. The first man I saw die was an older gentleman, mean spirited, I came in to turn him, he grabbed my arm and said watch out behind you with terror in his eyes, and then he passed I believe it was demons coming to get him. I got chills up and down my body, very surreal

Re: Have you ever seen someone die?
end of summer 2020 was working as a temp for the county as a landscaper

one day we had to go to the cemetery and bury bodies for the people that died and had no family (insurance) to pay for the funeral and or URN

so they came in a black bag witha zipper and it was our job to put them into a wooden casket, bury them and then do a land fill excavating the layer and layer of dead boddies that have been fossilized since 1940's

ive always been... a curios 1

so after smoking a blunt with coworkers (memphis tn). i felt the nerve to unzip the bag to see the person i was responsible for burying

MY SOUL left MY BODY and the air was cold. my face GRIM
at the blink of eye

i said A prayer, weather it be for god, myself, the dead body.... but regardless i felt inclined to pay some sort of homage and due diligence for the DISRESPECT? i had brought upon my own conscience and the mortal coil unto which i gazed upon

that was the 3rd time witnessing death and my first time seeing a dead body in a state of uhhhhh perservation

My dad.

I walked in the room when my dad died, and i saw him gulp his final breath.

I was happy for him, it was over, ie dying.

I will not say anymore, as people will not want to hear what i say about death.

Re: Have you ever seen someone die?
I rendered one last sponge bath to clean up my father in preparation for his long last journey after I switched off his life support.

Though it was comforting, it made me miserable.

It was the start of a spiritual experience that made me believed in the afterlife.

Yes, a loved one. I also interacted with them as they were between worlds. Truly a life changing experience for me.

I have a few times...mostly family members. Some say they can "see" the soul leave the body when the last breath is taken. I will definitely admit there is a definite "presence" when the passing occurs. Very surreal moment, for sure.

Share your experiences.

Almost 5 years ago. My Dad suddenly passed away in front of me and my brother at a golf course. Extremely traumatic experience. He was 66 yrs old and never had a health problem previous that we knew about. My best friend. Anyway, the night after he passed away I had the strangest dream.

As I was teeing off(hitting a golf ball), which happened to be right next to the spot that he died, he rode up on a white horse and said “So, are you telling me that I actually died?” I woke up crying immediately after this and reality set in that he actually had died. I believe that was him coming to me in my dream. He has been in several of my dreams over the past 5 years.

Yes. A bad situation that became surreal and peaceful showing there is nothing to fear, and proof of the afterlife. She had seen passed loved ones and when she awoke from her coma after 4 days, she ate, she danced, she said goodbye and died that very night. The energy and spirit coming from her was palpable, calming and reassuring. Amazing.

Re: Have you ever seen someone die?
Yes, my mother when I was 16 and also an infant son.

I held my son while he passed at 10 days.
Thankfully it seemed pretty peaceful.

My mom's unexpected death included both my dad and grandfather, her dad, asking God to take them instead. She had blood coming from her nose. The surgery she had didn't take. Not good at all.

I think its 21 Grams. there was a movie I never saw it.

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

The title refers to an experiment in 1907 which attempted to show scientific proof of the existence of the soul by recording a loss of body weight (said to represent the departure of the soul) immediately following death. Referred to as the 21 grams experiment as one subject lost "three-fourths of an ounce" (21.3 grams), the experiment is regarded by the scientific community as flawed and unreliable, though it has been credited with popularizing the concept that the soul weighs 21 grams
