Lost power last night but they had brought a truck and crew in by helicopter yesterday so they got us up and running again! It was an eerie feeling in the dark late last night, realizing that without the internet we are truly cut off since cell service is spotty at best. No way to call 911 and no way for any response if we did. A few newbies have already freaked out and evacuated though. People on the other side are all helping us get supplies and mail. A local farm organization has weekly CSA deliveries by boat - local, organic fruits, veggies, goat cheese, grass fed beef and freshly baked bread. On the other side, we get an ATV ride up Laird Hamilton’s driveway to a drop off at the golf course club house where we can hop on another shuttle that continues on to Kilauea, 12 miles away, so we can pick up our mail.
