HEADS UP: Just got an Amazon scam phone call....BEWARE!

I relate, OP. I've been getting a TON of scam text messages.

How the hell do we get it to STOP?

What I'd like to know is how this scam got put together with my phone number....I mean, how do they even know I buy at Amazon, much less my phone number?....:shrug:


It seems like someone at Amazon or who used to work for Amazon is selling the info.


How do youse guyses think mine and others info got to them?

If caller ID doesn't show the caller as someone or an office I know, I let it go to voicemail and all they get is "You have reached the office of Mr. __________ at the Department of __________. For immediate help please call the helpdesk at 202-XXX-XXXX."

Sadly I may have missed hundred of opportunities presenting theirself via these spam calls, which is almost a shame because anyone that receives a spam call has a moral obligation to demean and de-spirit the caller for intruding upon their tranquility.

My elderly mom just got the same call yesterday.

Funny you can post 1 thing on social media and the FBI will kick your door in but these scammers must seem to never get caught... hmmm?

Yeah, I got another call in my area code I didn't recognize. I didn't answer it. I did however think about answering it to fuck with them....

Most of us here are smart enough to know better, like I did, but there is a scam going wherein you'll get a call from "Amazon" saying there's a large charge and they want it verified or you can talk to someone. The charge for me was $1,400 and I sure as hell wanted to talk to someone.

After purportedly getting my Amazon account up, he said something about getting my SS#, he wanted to know how much money was in my bank account....

I gave that guy the run around for about 15 minutes until he finally hung up on me. I did call my bank afterwards and there was no pending transactions, so....yeah.

Also, the phone number was a local phone number....heh, I did not know Amazon had a business here in my little town....


At any rate, this is just a heads up to beware of phone calls from Amazon....

Fucking Mumbai Mafia. I get the calls every day trying to scam me despite joining the "National Do NOT Call List" about 10 times.

They cant even speak English well enough to be understood so they can scam you.

Cant wait till all the newly arrived citizens on our southern Border take jobs in the call centers, it will be a wonderful opportunity for them to embrace their new country and scam us all or else steal the catalytic converter on my truck.

I get lots of these calls. I always hang up.
Amazon scam.
IRS scam.
SS scam.
Customs scam.
Insurance scams.
Medicare scams.
Credit card scams.
Grandchild scam.
Lottery scams.

Decades ago when people often sent Fax spam, I would take three sheets of black construction paper, tape them together and feed them into my Fax machine and tape the bottom sheet to the top sheet so it ran in a loop and call back the sending number after business hours.

Two things could happen: It could waste an entire ream of paper and a cartridge of toner or it could cause the fuser in their Fax machine to overheat, start the Fax on fire, and if they had sufficient 'bad karma' in life as a person, set their office on fire and burn them out of their job.

They called me, I merely ensured there would be no follow-up call.
