Easy rebuttal. What proof is there that is is a hoax? That looks and sounds like a drunk SK and ten years ago deep fakes were not a thing for the general public.

Kubrick may have had something to do with the Moon hoax, but I if he did, wouldn't it have looked BETTER than it does? He was a master filmmaker perfectionist. 2001 took 3 years to make and it still looks flawless today. The shots of the Moonscape are astounding.

NASA has lied since its inception. Just as all government agencies lie. Yet many people here believe NASA 100%. NASA spends billions on doing stuff that Elon Musk is doing for a fraction of what they spend. He'll be shut down at some point I reckon.

That video was proved a hoax a few months after it appeared on YouTube. I was taken in by it, then it was obvious it was a brilliant hoax.

Great hoax, like Elmyr de Hory who faked Picasso's, admitted it, yet his forgeries are still not admitted by their owners to be fake!

I'm with you 100% on the moon hoaxes, flat Earth, etc, but the jury is still out on Kubrick. It doesn't really matter that much to be honest, we have waaaay better proof that NASA is full of poop.

But one thing is for certain, if that video is an actor playing drunk worn out Kubrick he is doing a masterful job. Certainly better than any of the current Space Actors.

I saw it around 2010, first in short segments. It must have gotten bigger traction in 2015/16 when released as this full 80 minute cut.

Stanley Kubrick died in 1999.
The guy in that video looks too old to be Kubrick (at the time of his death). I don't think Kubrick's hair was totally grey at the time of his death either.

It could be him, it's hard to tell from the zoomed in camera footage, but I'm highly skeptical.

Add in the part where the interviewer asks about the subject's "rough" appearance and it gets more dubious.

It's hard to say, it could be him.

That is not Kubrick and not even a good fake of him. Also that camera is a newer camera done after the Director passed away...

It is a very good performance, but the more you look and listen, it becomes clear it isn't Kubrick. He was way smarter and way more articulate than this when you listen to his 1987 interview for example. Or this short phone call that a Japanese guy made to him asking about the ending to 2001...

He never gave a video interview after 1968. He's in the 28-minute "Making of The Shining" documentary that his daughter made...



People still call him reclusive but he was just humble and private and was scared of flying despite being a pilot. He took his time over choosing a project, would do insane amounts of research. I reckon he was into conspiracy theories and he may have suspected that the Moon landings were a hoax hence the Apollo 11 sweatshirt on Danny in The Shining and other stuff in that film.

Hate to be 'that' person, but why would NASA need Kubrick?

Sure he was a great film maker but the govt. has\had their own people at that level. You had to know cameras, lenses and lighting to the point where you know what you are getting before you press the button.

ETA: Not saying that isnt him, however. Have not watched yet. He was, one of the best though, along with my dad.

As if Stanley Kubrick is shameful and wants to make a confession. Thats as hard to believe as the moon landing.

IMO the most compelling tid bit is he received 2 super rare zeiss lenses from nasa in the 60s .. worth a million + back then.
