I find it hard to reconcile the supernatural miracles witnessed by many and the lack of contemporary accounts. It ought to have been be the biggest news around I suppose. Feeding the multitudes and so on? The only guy ever to do that stuff but no one at the time was like "Whoah!!!"

Actually, many of the gods of the past HAVE (according to legend) resurrected, and many were born of a virgin too.
Again, there is no proof either way for any of them at all.
If one chooses to pick one god and not the other, then one's choice does nothing to legitimize that particular god's existence, nor the non existence of others.
The choice of which god to go with is circumstantial and geographical, and almost entirely dependent on which culture one happens to be born into.
If gods were worshipped and revered based on merit and deeds, there would be no religious people...

Read or listen to the audio book by Bill O’reilly “killing Jesus” it’s a complete history of Jesus the man. Not religious. All references in the book have all the historical notations with the proof of the historical information. You can look up anything he has said with proven historical facts. He’s not arguing if Jesus was the son of God in the book. He is only laying out the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
