Here is why it won’t be as bad as you might think. The formerly employed who are now going to be evicted are just normal people who through no fault of their own don’t have a job.

The chronically homeless have drug and mental issues that make it very difficult to help them. They have likely already had relatives and friends try to help but their personal problems have made it impossible.

In short, they are no longer welcome.

Normal people can move back with parents or friends and are responsible. Normal people can take out a personal loan to get them through.

It will be tough but not the end of the world.

We’re out of the job 2 days before Christmas. Did everything to the tee. No bills except the mortgage. Have 6 months emergency fund. Due to this don’t qualify for benefits. We’re scared. And I will say this, if we’re scared everyone else not prepared it’s a freaking nightmare. COVID almost a year later will financially ruin more people and families then the Recession ever did.

Yeah, OP, my family friend, he got severely screwed by his employer after his employer caused him to severely mess up his lower spine. This was a decade or so ago too. My family friend, according to him he was one of the best workers for his employer. His SSI paperwork on his employer's side and getting his retirement funds were all denied for years.

His retirement money was stolen by his employer therefore making his employer even more rich. My family friend nearly offed himself because the pain was so great and his depression so powerful. A miracle happened one fateful day that changed everything for him. He saw a SSI Judge who saw that his lower spine as irreparably damaged and gave him his SSI Disability Benefits. Though unfortunately his retirement monies are forever gone. So you are not all alone, OP, in your pain and misery.
