At 653 AM EDT, a confirmed large and destructive tornado was located
over Walterboro, moving east at 50 mph.

TORNADO EMERGENCY for Walterboro. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS
SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

HAZARD...Deadly tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction
is possible.

Berkeley County in southeastern South Carolina...
Dorchester County in southeastern South Carolina...

* Until 745 AM EDT.

* At 652 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Santee Cooper Regional Airport to near
Cottageville to Tillman, moving east at 90 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek,
Hanahan, Beaufort, Moncks Corner, McClellanville, Edisto Beach,
Fort Sumter, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, Daniel Island,
Givhans Ferry State Park and Naval Weapons Station Charleston.

This warning includes...
I-26 between mile markers 187 and 221.
I-526 between mile markers 11 and 31.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted, act quickly and move to a
place of safety inside a sturdy structure such as a basement or small
interior room.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing
widespread wind damage across these locations. SEEK SHELTER NOW
inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows!

We were very lucky here in the city limits of Columbia, we lost power for about 15 minutes a couple of branches bounced off the roof with some Highwinds that’s it, people south of us dam!!!!

My mother is freakin out from me trying to stuff her and tomato plant in coat closet.

Thank God the bad weather stayed north of me, but very sad for all those who have been affected. Praying for all.

Gastonia NC had no power and both sides of highway 85 shut down. No traffic lights working until Belmont.

Some ditch flooding and leaf litter seen, no large branches or trees down on the way in.

I saw Laurel Ms got hit , I am a HGTV watcher that is where Home Town is recorded

Myrtle beach SC TV has everything moving east at 50 mph
