How many of y’all have a storm shelter or basement?
Brick slab here in Mississippi. They just don’t build basements much in the south

It wasn't my garbage can, thankfully, and only one car belonged to me. Mine had $400 damage to the little window behind the rear door window. It was definitly a life experience. Half the fence damage in my neighborhood was due to trampolines.

Regardless, Turd Ferguson, Jr., dang. On Joe Ramsey Blvd. near that Prep Town that is adjacent after one severe storm we had over a year ago much of their wooden fencing to keep the poor people from looking into their wonderful lives wound up getting blown over in very large sections and some parts to lesser degrees. Other than that it did not look as though there was much damages to that Prep Town. I am not sure why trampolines are still popular to this day. They have been repeatedly proven to be death traps.

Nope. Last place I lived had a closet under the stairs we'd get into if SHTF. Now, no such interior space. Plus, we're surrounded by trees out in the woods. If one or two were to fall, we'd be in bed shape.

I think the ground is too wet for building basements in much of the south, southwest, and southeast.

Also that first batch of storms passed over without so much rain and storming. It got real dark for about an hour though. Looking on the NOAA's national radar the initial storms I mentioned in a previous post in this thread have passed my town and have "bowed" outward. However, there are some smaller storms that are back-building about where there original batch of storms spawned. So I am guessing by six to eight tonight it will get to be a very bumpy ride weather wise.

Heard a news alerts on radio advising people to plan for the storms and plan where they can go if they need shelter since most wont be open due to the Covid issue.Can't have people in close contact.

Severe thunderstorms are possible across portions of the Mid
Atlantic southward into the Carolinas and southeast Georgia,
primarily during the morning into mid afternoon, with a threat of
damaging winds and perhaps a few tornadoes.

...Mid Atlantic region...

Trend has been for a slower progression of broken line of storms
that should extend from western VA southward through the central
Carolinas by 12Z Monday. This should allow greater downstream
destabilization across the eastern Carolinas as upper 60s F
dewpoints advect inland from the Gulf stream, along with possibility
of modest diabatic heating of the boundary layer supporting up to
1500 J/kg MLCAPE. Wind profiles with 50+ kt effective bulk shear and
large 0-1 km hodographs will support embedded supercells and bowing
linear segments with damaging wind and tornadoes the main threats
from morning into early afternoon.

...Virginia through central and eastern Pennsylvania and New
Jersey...

Have expanded the SLGT risk farther north into this region. Areas of
rain and thunderstorms will likely be ongoing north of a warm front
from PA and NJ into southern New England. This activity will shift
northeast during the morning allowing modest destabilization to
occur in the pre-frontal warm sector with MLCAPE from 400-800 J/kg.
Storms are expected to redevelop along cold front and in association
with deeper forcing accompanying the northeast-ejecting shortwave
trough. Wind profiles with 50+ kt effective bulk shear along with
large 0-1 km hodographs will promote a threat for organized storms
including supercells capable of damaging wind and a couple of
tornadoes.

A longwave trough will remain in place over essentially the entire
CONUS on Monday. An ejecting shortwave trough and associated deep
cyclone will move quickly northeastward into eastern Canada during
the day, as a trailing cold front moves through the Mid Atlantic and
Carolinas, and likely stalls out somewhere near southern GA/northern
FL.

...Mid Atlantic southeastward into northern FL...

Considerable uncertainty remains regarding the eastward progress of
widespread convection that is expected to develop upstream Sunday
night into early Monday morning. With very strong wind fields and at
least marginal instability in place ahead of any ongoing
thunderstorm clusters or QLCS, some threat for damaging wind and a
few tornadoes will exist until convection moves completely offshore.

If slower solutions end up verifying, then there would be time for
additional destabilization in advance of any convection from the Mid
Atlantic southward into the Carolinas, which would result in the
potential for a more substantial severe risk, including the
potential for more widespread damaging winds and possibly a greater
tornado threat, associated with bowing segments and/or embedded
supercells. If this scenario appears more likely in subsequent
updates, an increase in probabilities will be required for some
portion of this area. It is also possible that at least some of the
Slight Risk area will need to be downgraded if convection reaches
the coast faster than currently forecast.

TX OK weather today is better organized than expected, and now the possibility of isolated super cells.

Dixie Alley tomorrow. It's the "action hour" now in TX and OK. Discreet cells popping on the dryline. How I'd LOVE to sit and watch this in the panhandle.

In a little less than 2 weeks is the April 27th 2011 date whose outbreak of severe weather surpassed the Super Outbreak on April 3/4 1974. Crazy energy in April and May.
