Click one and it says temporarily out of stock or the price has tripled In telling you all Amazon is misleading. Results are returned but you have to view the page to check for availability. Some say restock in X days, but I wouldn’t bet on that happening at this rate. As for Lowe’s or HD, if your local area has them then that’s great. For me the only option on a select few masks was to have it shipped via truck and that was an extra $100. I did go to a local hardware store today and I bought the last pack of 10 masks. Figured best to have some in hand and return if my online order shows up. Regardless, supplies are being snatched up (at least in some areas). Amazon has the largest distribution and supply chain in the world and masks are not readily available. 2+2 = |

OP's right supplies on Amazon are disappearing fast. All the cheap to mid-price ones are gone to almost gone. Walmart had some 3M's for about $14 for a 15 pack as of yesterday. Regardless of whether you think they work or not, its best to have some to keep the particles away from people sneezing. |

This virus is smaller than the p95 filter. I have no idea why people are buying these. These are for smoke and dust, ect. Not sure if the p100 would work either It is better than nothing though . 3m makes the cool flow ones that dont heat up as much. These things get hot and uncomfortable Reading at other places the virus is smaller than the mask but the virus has to travel in another medium like sneeze/water droplet which is bigger and will be mostly filtered. Yes, they don't filter 100%, but beats the alternative option of zero filtration. You don't need masks. If you have basics to stay home for a time if needed that's all you should do. Why would you go out in a mask when it's so easy to keep a basic pantry and just stay out of public if there are infection risks? I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this. And as medical personnel, I would be irritated as fuck if people go out with their "masks" creating more emergency calls, work, and risk for ME. It's irresponsible and stupid frankly. I just shake my head because I always keep enough food in this house for like 3 weeks. Some of that is due to the fact I live in the country and am busy so I just stock up to save time. But it seems just common sense. My parents always did this as well! We are fully prepared to lockdown at home, as are most GLPers, but until a lockdown order is given, most people will still have to earn a living. That is where the masks come into play. Yes, I agree, keep your ass at home and don't cause more burden to healthcare workers than they will already be suffering. Stay home, and hopefully this thing will burn out. LG, do you think people will wear masks in public? I mean, when do you see them really starting to walk around with them? As mentioned, I hope people just stay home but you are correct in saying in the meantime people ARE walking around. I think people would give a lot of stares around here if they saw you walking around like that. If they see ME walking around with one doing my shopping they will panic though as this is a small area I live and move in, they know who I am and what I do! Not sure I want to incite that kind of response in others, you know what I mean? I am not panicky over this at all, just staying aware and haven't gotten another alert since Thursday. So we shall see. I would certainly hope NOT but I suppose eventually I will have to wear the mask. And because of what I do potentially the suit!! |
