N95 Masks Are Gone!! Amazon, Lowe’s and Home Depot

We have 2 Vietnam era mask with new nbc filters.
Would like to have some extra though for family.

I have a better idea that I will not mention here.

It doesn't really matter. N95 filters to 0.3 microns. The virus is 0.12. Is it better than nothing? Who's to say really. Maybe? But it isn't really a protection.

You need a mask that covers your eyes as well.

The virus is so small that it can enter via the eyes.

Just returned from a local Benjamin Moore paint store.
No customers, very quiet, even though the store is close to a large Asian neighborhood.
They had everything in stock that our local big box stores, Home Depot and pharmacy was out of.
Masks, gloves, eye protction, even the suits and shoe covers. Everything was a fraction of the cost that Amazon is charging.

I had about half a box of N95 masks left that I have had for about 10 years. We normally wear them here in Nor Cal when the brush fire smoke gets bad.

I decided to head into town and see what was available. None at Home Depot. None at Ace Hardware.

Tractor Supply had 3 boxes left. I bought 2 of them. $28.99/box of 20.

I did not check at Harbor Freight.

While in town, I did see some people wearing masks. Two in a car and two at the grocery store.

Anything filtering smaller than 5 microns is going to block the droplets the .13 micron virus itself rises on. Even a cloth could be helpful but less effective

You need to stop droplets floating in the air from getting to your eyes nose and mouth.
Any reduction in the air spray hitting your flesh is helping

Having N95 or P100 even better should be a staple of your preps.

Pandemics are possibly the worst kind of doom and shit gets real way fast and the scope is always global

Goggles mask...a welders head visor with a full poly shield ideal.

You dont need the tech for your whole family, just the person who is venturing into town for critical errands. Kids and elderly isolate at home.

Use once. Dont touch them. Treat the mask and gloves as hazmat. Remove mask with gloves remove gloves with each other, toss into special hazmat garbage.

You need masks down to .1 micron, googles, ear plugs, and gloves.

The real purpose of masks is to limit the spread of the germs from people who are already infected.

They are not designed to protect you from very small microbes. They are so small they can slip right by.

If you think doctors where masks to protect themselves too it just shows how ignorant you are.
