Though no deaths have been reported, at least six people have been hospitalized with one developing hemolytic-uremic syndrome, a type of kidney failure. Symptoms vary and can range from mild to severe diarrhea to nausea and vomiting. Usually there is little or no fever present. E. coli can spread from an infected person, contaminated food or water, or by touching contaminated surfaces, the CDC says. It is very contagious and can spread quickly in places such as daycare centers and cruise ships. |

Coli outbreaks with veggies. E.Coli is a bacteria commonly found in the intestines of humans and animals.... Sure, they'll blame workers for pooing but E.Coli outbreaks often happen in commercial sprout 'farms'. Not really a 'farm', it's a bunch of containers and not possible or at least highly improbable a worker pooing in them is going unnoticed.... Then I learned that when they do the gene splicing to add the pesticides, or God knows what, they need to use something 'alive' and guess what it is?? E. Coli! |

I was at the health food store about an hour ago. The cook was out in the restaurant area near the tables. He sneezed loudly without covering his mouth (saw it). A few minutes later I heard him sneeze twice back in the kitchen...seriously doubt if he bothered to cover his mouth. With a mentality like that, how well do you think he waGoat Lovers hands after he uses the bathroom?? Grossed me out. Multiply times 10 million low wage food workers, including a few who actively want to harm you with fecal matter. |

It was the worst experience of my life, I wouldn't wish it on enemies (that's how bad it was). If you are feeling ill or feel a slight fever, get to the hospital. I went to the docs 5 days after my infection (or when I suspected)- 5 days after the fact and I was feeling better, they said I had a temp of 103, and gave me an IV for lost fluids. I could have died from that but didn't. Salmonella wasn't anything to mess with, doubt E coli is either. Any symptoms, get your ass to the hospital. |

People have been getting e coli from that stuff as long as it's been around. Quoting: John Donson 76392080 Quit buying bagged veggies - unless you want e coli! It's mother nature thinning the daft from the herd. We grow our own kale, spinach and other greens but when they are out of season I will buy bagged greens BUT.. i soak them in cold salt water for abt 10min and then wash and salad spin them 3 times, never trust a bagged salad that says "Prewashed" as the companies recycle the wash water to save profit. |

They wash 100s of bags with that same water. If one or two plants that had the bacteria after a migrant worker pooped or peed in the field then the water they wash it with is tainted it gets on everything. If the issue is a worker with dirty hands or poor hygiene habits it can happen to several batches. Life is a spiritual war and no matter where we lay our head, we live in a warzone.
