You NEED to go to the doctor. PERIOD

After the Doctor gives you the cure for the infection, then and only then you can take Cranberry tablets to maintain a healthy Urinary Track.

That crap gets into your kidneys and shuts the suckers down. Don't temp fate.
 Quoting: Loup Garou

The last time I went to see a doctor about a UTI he told me:
"At your age you can expect this once a month." I took his 'remedy' (antibiotics) and vowed this would not happen on a monthly basis. I searched and found D-Manoose. Used that successfully for years. But, alas, that too eventually didn't work even though I upped the amount and the duration. I then switched to Oil of Oregano which worked like a charm for about a year and now that too takes a much bigger dose than usual and takes much longer to get relief.
 Quoting: beebee

Have you had a urine culture done to find out exactly what strain of bacteria you're dealing with here? If you have not done this, please get it done ASAP.

D-mannose only works for Ecoli bacteria, you might have another bacteria now.
 Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

Yes, I'm aware of that. There's a homeopathic remedy I use specifically for e-coli = ColiBacillinum

Get to the doctor this week and havea urine culture done so you know what bacteria you're battling. This isn't something to mess around with, some bacteria are deadly. Please do this.

Re: Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
Are you 100% sure it's a chronic infection and not interstitial cystitis?

I'm sorry, but you really do need to go to the Dr and get a urine culture done. If it comes back positive, you really do need antibiotics. I hate antibiotics and the last time I tried to cure it naturally, I ended up with a bad kidney infection.

If the culture comes back negative, look into interstitial cystitis. I have it and sometimes I don't know whether I having an infection or a flare. They feel the same.

Either way... I don't mess around anymore. With as many infections as I have had, I do not want any more damage to my kidneys

Re: Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
Herbs of Light kidney/ bladder formula was the best thing I've ever used. I had chronic kidney infection where my GP wouldn't treat me anymore unless I went to a specialist and the specialist never could figure out why.

I finally went to health food store, when I no longer had insurance, and she recommended Herbs of Light kidney/bladder. Basically it worked 100% of the time for me. Make sure and read directions, you can't use it all the time.

When I can't get this stuff I just take the Uva Ursi drops which is one of the ingredients in the formula and they sell close by.

Other things that have worked are GSE, Hawthorne, Colloidal silver, parsley and asparagus.

o.k. Now you know the name of the book (see post #61748091) - it's all about Urine Therapy. Alas, every website I visited said NOT to use urotherapy if you have a UTI. I was crushed. Then I remembered the art of homeopathy. I searched again and I found exactly what I was looking for - Homeopathic Urine Preparation.

I read about a woman who contracted a UTI after having surgery, which eventually turned chronic. Her husband was educated in homeopathy and they tried the usual remedies, but, just like myself, each time they became less effective. Then he decided to make a Homeopathic Urine Preparation (30 C) for her. It worked like a charm. She had one more bout after that and has been clear ever since. I figured I had nothing to lose. So, I took one drop of my own bloody urine and made a 30 C potency. I took my first dose at 9:00 a.m.. Within minutes I felt a "change" I took a dose every 1/2 hour for 2 hours. By 3:00 p.m. (6 hours later) I had absolutely no symptoms at all. That evening I went out dining with friends.

Please be careful and don't ignore symptoms. MIL had 2 severe UTI's and the hospital treated her for strokes that she did not have. It took them two days to realize that she was septic and it was from the UTI's. She began babbling then ended up semi-conscious. Some of the symptoms are the same for both strokes and UTI's.

Wow, that sounds like some serious malpractice. What state was this in? I mean sepsis should be detectable in the blood immediately, how could that ever be mistaken for a stroke???
