Aramaic & Hebrew have words with diametric meaning.
This word ShiBaQ as in Ps.22 is one such, meaning 'Quit.' It is both 'Abandon' (leave off, let alone) and 'Dismiss' (permit to remain, preservation)... With the infix of a Waw as ShuWBaQ it is a 'Forsaking'.

The written in Greek SABAChThANI (besides the usual S for Sh and Th for T) shows a Xi (Chi /ks) hinting to ShaBaHk 'Keep in, Pacify' which compelled some evangelicals to say He meant this "Kept" and that the "which interpreted means" was a later comment from the margin into the text inserted (so parenthetical).

I would say that the context is interesting in that at this saying coincides a mishearing as it is thought that "He calls on Elijah", and that this cues one to look into the ShB based words -as He was in a awkward position injured and near death as well as amid confusion so hearing exact enunciations would be a difficult... What if the word was ZeBaCh rather than Aramaic SaBaCh(?) now theres a Theologically LOADED statement(!);

We are in SPACE 18 my friends, which started on or about ~1998 and ends about ~2853. Transgressions came full for Zechariah around ~1998. Transgressions will come full for Daniel around ~2133, so I pray to wash the harm from your back, as the "Ancient of Days" could arrive for Judgement at any time there after up to about ~2183. The iniquity of the Amorites will be full after two thousand one hundred years. The life of the Messiah must be added, thus ~2133. There also needs to be a lapse of time prior to the ushering in of the thousands years, when the Messiah arrives arrives, but prior, back to the end of Daniel, "Elias" comes to restore all things. (Is that a Comet Strike that restores our tilt?) Judgement happens then, as the crust is split open and we tumble from the impact?

We have no secondary source of the words Jesus spoke; we only have secondary sources through Matthew, Mark, and John, who tell us about the crowd at the scene and their reaction to what they thought Jesus said. Some in the crowd said, "Hey, he's calling Elias! Maybe he'll come and get him down off the cross!" - As if it were a big joke. Some other said, "He says he's thirsty! Some one give him a drink!" So someone ran to a bowl of vinegar, put a sponge on a reed, soaked it in vinegar and held it to Jesus' lips.

Maybe because Jesus was a human, not God. His miracles were done by God's power working thru Him. He had no power and did not know what to expect. He was offered up in sacrifice and died. Of course He would be hurt and ask in confusion why God had forsaken Him. No rescue, no magical last minute reprisal. Death.
