anyhoo...I'm beat...gonna carsh...probably gonna dream about carving..=-P

OK, we got 2 pumpkins this year..one was for the kids and the other one I wanted to try my hand at a portrait.

Neither subject was 'GLP Themed', but I turned the portrait one into a smilie about a popular topic here and slapped 'GLP' across it for my entry pic. =-)

Anyhoo...

First off, I made my own carving tools this year. The handles are from cheap disposable paint-brushes....the blade and the carving loops I made from a lid off of a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli...


My wife wanted a custom but not too-difficult pattern for 'Belle', from 'Beauty and the Beast....so I combined the first two pics below with an oval in photoshop to make the pattern on the right..


Then I used a straight pin to 'stab-outline' the pattern on the pumpkin.....rubbing a bit of powder on afterwards makes the 'dots' more visible. (There's my knuckle tattoos to prove it's me..


I've never attempted a portrait pumpkin before,.....but I watched 20-something minutes of Youtube videos on the subject and thought I'd give it a try..LOL.

...So I set out to put my daughter on a pumpkin...=-)!
