Huge explosions near a National Security premises and a court building in Qaliubiya's Shubra El-Kheima district was heard all across Greater Cairo in the early hours of Thursday.

No deaths have been reported so far while at least six were injured in the apparent terrorist attack, said Ahmed El-Ansary, head of Egypt's ambulance authority.

Three bombs went off in the vicinity of the National Security premises, reported the Egyptian national TV quoting an anonymous security source.

Egypt's Ministry of Interior says there was a single blast outside National Security building on outskirts of #Cairo, caused by car bomb.




Driver made his getaway on a motorbike. 6 policemen injured in the blast #Cairo

The car bomb arrived to location, driver jumped out, escaping on a motorcycle following him a moment after #explosion happened #Cairo

Thank god I told my friend not to let his son go to investigate with his motorcycle I told him, you know they'll be most likely looking for someone and if it was a motorcycle he better stay home.

Update: 8 injuries reported now

Update Ministry of Health 23 injuries in total, at least 6 are police

They said the bomb was in a car, the driver was followed by a motorcycle, he jumped out of the car and jumped on the motorcycle and they took off.

There's a big search now. I'm glad I'm not on any roads now and I don't have to go anywhere early morning, the checkpoints would be causing big traffic jams, like we don't have bad enough traffic already

Black Bloc only one claiming responsibility. Their leader was arrested in June. So that could possibly be revenge for that. I haven't followed these guys whether they're real, it was quiet since they showed up a couple years ago. I just read about the arrest of the leader.

Thank you - 6 policemen injured, all together 23 injuries. I hope it stays that way. I mostly feel very sorry for the people nearby whose buildings and appartments got damaged, some badly :(
