Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59129123 Who cares if it makes his "boss" look like shit? Of course she does, but if I ran a business, I would want employees who showed initiative to find solutions, not avoid them. Every person in management was tossing the buck and avoiding him. It seems he was becoming despondent and desperate. Should have just lawyered up and filed a suit. Good point. A good manager would find a way of directing that energy, not telling him to go home with pay just to get rid of him. If this kid could'v held on he could'v run his own business one day easily. |

Not much of a team player, and somewhat obsessive. That said, there are plenty of assholes in the corporate world who love to pigeon-hole good workers and treat them as a mere rung on their own ladder to personal success. This guy made himself a target with his attitude. When jerks are mixed with jerks, nothing good can come of it. |

There is a background fuzz to his language. His tone of voice is synthetically altered, like the musicians of today's "magic box" sort of music. There's something in the background that is doing a cross-wise thing. O-kay, so here is when maybe some of you "news hounds" for Fox News here will do some (she's crazy) epithets or whatever, but I must continue the comment despite the trash hood of that sort of news that makes things so rotten. Obviously males are dying at Fox. At FX too, it's a cartel mentality, just stealing ideas from the population via warrantless wiretap laws, turning it into profit. Seen similar designs in Communist Bloc companies, spying on the neighbors to steal their life for exploitative profit. At some point I'm wondering if he did this as a publicity stunt, or Fox did. On several occasions the stories I've read in the paper have turned out to be lies and the photos are bogus with names and the people aren't dead. I'm not entertaining those utopian dreams of the late employee. Shilling for the company, no sympathy. No, it's not a pills and forgetaboutit, a few crazy shaming hate words, the design at Fox news is take the dropout shit writers, add some state news by force, make them seem smart, and cut up the reporters until they barely look human in front of a camera. Green screens too. In a world without boundaries, they try to wedge a reality in a box. They wedged that guys reality in a box. How does that 15 minutes of fame feel like? Like shit. |

True enough but it's not his to control. That's how nature is. If you want to control it, you get it on your own or convince the owner that you can do a better job for him. What you DONT do is demand that you get to take over. It's just the way it is. Do you think the unions took over businesses because of their good works or the fact that they blackmailed and threatened their way into control? |

Two similar situations happened to me. Before I continue with my accounts of dealing with NEW "bosses from hell", I had received sterling reviews from my previous bosses in the same companies. My experience was, as I said, SIMILAR to Perea's, but, of course, not exactly the same. 1. In the first case, I was denied a promotion I deserved (scoring highest among 25 applicants and after two years with the company, compared to the person who got the promotion who, although a brand new hire to the company, did have a college degree, which I lacked (even though his degree was immaterial and unrelated to the position). After appealing to higher-ups without satisfactory result, I simply quit -- and was immediately hired by another company which promoted me after only five months to an even higher position that I was denied at Company No. 1 -- at much higher pay. 2. At a completely different company years later, my boss, a new V.P, called me into her office and told me that my work was unsatisfactory, although she gave no specific examples. [Previous to her arrival, I had received consistent "rave reviews" and regular merit raises. However, about a month before, the corporation president asked me about a decision this V.P. had made that involved mistreatment of the office staff, as I was the office manager, and I told the president the truth.] Anyway, after the "dressing down" by the V.P., of course I was furious, but instead of quitting (which she probably hoped I would do), I began to VOLUNTARILY give daily one-page summaries of my actions, decisions and results for that day to the VP, with each report ending with a polite request for suggestions for improvement. But -- surprise, surprise and wonders of wonders! -- NO suggestions were made; and after about a month of these daily reports, this V.P. told me to desist, and there was no more criticism of me, although to say that we were "coldly professional" with each other would just about sum up our relationship thereafter. As a P.S. to this whole mess, she developed cancer a few months later -- KARMA!!! -- and was dead within a year. (I can't honestly say I mourned her passing.) Anyway, corporate bullshit DOES exist, but there are much better ways of dealing with it than committing suicide. Yes, one SHOULD fight it as best as one can, but one should be SMART about it. Perea was intelligent, but just not very smart. |

All he had to do was admit that he used poor judgement by choosing to post a picture of the chief of police which made him look bad. But he never own up to that. 2. The biggest mistake the employee made was showing his hands too early by threatening legal action. He should have not even mention that. I think if he had not done those two things , then he would still be alive and employed today. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 846509 United States 01/27/2015 10:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Fired Fox employee kills himself at News Corp HQ, says network 'ruined his life' and posts videos I looked at some of his pseudo-lawsuit amateur complaints and discovered the following: - his boss Lorena seems to have an oxy habit with her word slurs. She wants to bring a friend into the company. There's your problem, bad chemistry between the (dead) guy with the Asperger's relating to his normal-yet-addicted boss lady who wants to degrade him. Yes, it's degrading work environment instead of focusing on the product, focusing on wants for direction. - that other boss lady, she is not using professional management conduct. "I" "you" are not company. Sounds like an argument between ex-boyfriends or something, the historic wrongs that add up to the not liking one another thing. Stick to corporate design. - he was wrong in trying to override boss design. if they're fuck ups they are fuck ups, but overriding trail runs and stuff is for their failure not his own, and that would reveal itself through time. Look, if he wasn't good, just get the dude fired, don't even share your feelings with him. It's not professional to talk feelings. Leave your feelings at the door. Dealing with consumer grade news with ugly news desk talent and snarks and quips and craps about daily life every day is what is the hell wrong with news shows in general. Fox, I quit TV because of product like yours. The guy grew a conscience and did the appropriate response. Pretty sure you look through all those veteran suicides, they did it after watching Fox News. |
